Hey forever. My husband had some serious religious delusions in his first episode, to the point of believing he WAS the second coming of Christ. After the episode he did question his faith quite a bit, but came to the same conclusion about the truth of the Bible and of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The fear was still there for him as well, the fear that it might happen again. The one thing he held to that has helped him is growing in his faith and in his knowledge of the Bible. During his most recent episode he felt demons (which I actually believe were there), but he was able to control his religious delusions because of how well he knew the Bible. When he started thinking something or even seeing/hearing something (applying the radio, tv, books, or even random bumper stickers to his life as a sign from God) he would quote scriptures that refuted the "claims" he felt were being made. He never did cross that line during this bout with mania because he had the scripture to stand on.

As for me, standing on scripture is the ONLY thing that got me (loving and devoted spouse) through. Keep the faith, God is the only one we can always trust and hold on to.

Love,

SS
