That sounds like a beautiful perspective. I read a little about him on wikipedia, and I think I may have read some passages by him in one of my creative writing classes. It is really sweet that nature inspired him so much. I can totally understand how that can happen though. One of my favorite landscape photographer, Ansel Adams, was clearly inspired by what he saw. There is an alternative form of therapy called wilderness therapy. There is something to it, as I have personally used it.

Oh, also there is a Voltaire quote that goes something like, "Think for yourself, and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too." Your teaching philosophy reminded me that of quote. I love Voltaire

Voltaire's Candide is a classic...I majored in English....Love Ansel Adams also, I have a friend Julia Simms, who is famous for wildlife photograpy, she will camp out for weeks in the swamp just to get one good shot...doesn't believe in the way some do it on preserves...she goes in the wild shoot pictures. Quite a gal.

Have you heard of Frida Kahlo? She's not a photographer, but an artist. She is an incredible artist and very emotional. I love when emotion comes through the art. A lot of photographers that are good at this seem to be photo-journalists. Dorothea Lange was an incredibly emotional photographer. Something I find amazing about her art is it doesn't just display human emotion, but also landscape emotion. I will check out Julia Simms' work.

If you have a link to her work that would be great. I tried to find some of her pics and have been unsuccessful. It sounds like photography I would not normally be exposed to being out in Colorado. We have a ton of landscape photographers out here. A lot are insanely talented, but they have no shortage of landscapes to shoot.

LOL! I think you should click on that link and see where it goes. I don't think there is any landscape photography going on there.

p.s. I did a search on her and found nothing. The one link that looked promising had nothing on her page.
