Know what you mean, I am laughing right now too. I am so glad the meds are working for you....being happy is a good thing to be.

Thanks Norma,

The support in the meantime isn't an issue thank god. I have set up a studio out in my garage (during a manic episode , who says mania is a totally bad thing?). I have a portfolio and some artist connections. Right now I think I need to solidify a plan. Your advice is actually very heplful in making me think about this stuff.

Hey Angela, your therapist can help with the irritation problems, I have bipolar two, and have been working pretty steady over the past 33 years.. my resume has 4 jobs on it that covers 10 years.. pre-medication days, I would get the irritability too.. not over cookies, but over stupid people mainly.. and negative people. they really got on my nerves..lol.. I'm with Glory's kids on the I ain't kissing no ones ass... I come in, I do my job, I take pride in the job I do, so leave me the hell alone..rofl.. Personally, I like Riddick's comment in Chronicals of Riddick, I bow to no one..

I had a little kitten I had got one time, and he was so little I had to wipe his butt and his pee-pee to get him to use the restroom, he took to climbing up on the back of the couch.. and turning his little butt up in the air for me to get him to pee.. I told him no matter how cute he was, I wasn't going to lick his butt for him, as I didn't kiss the bosses ass and he paid for the cat chow..

Oh my Carmen, that is a very visual story. It is also making me laugh pretty hard. I am not about the whole ass kissing either, and certainly not my cat's or dog's butt. Eeeew! God! Okay, so back to not thinking about that horrifying thought. God I can't get it out of my mind.

New paragraphs always help. Aaah! So now I forgot was I was saying and I am afraid to go back to the previous paragraph to find the butt licking again.

New paragraph, okay so I think it is awesome that you have been able to keep such a stable work history. I think a little of what is going on too is my self-destructiveness. I get a good job and get sick and destroy what I worked for. Part of this is boredom too. The other part is when I almost died in 2004 that really messed me up in a PTSD way. I was very stable before my accident, then things just went crazy after that. I have faith that I will be stable again. I think I will use this time to make myself nice and good, and just the way I want to be. I don't think I have an option anymore.

Sorry for getting that stuck in your head, but it was really funny, he daniel was a little black kitten I had rescued..

Try something you would like that is low stress, I work retail, cashier for Walgreens, pay ain't that great, but I enjoy the job, I go in, do my thing and get off and get out of there, also get a employee discount on most things..15% off.. so by catching sales I can keep us stocked up in things..

Hi Angela,

I was able to keep a job, when, I was younger, but, have had a hard time for a while, now. I have filed for disabilty, and am waiting on my hearing.

My bipolar symptoms caused me to lose jobs. I have been getting help for about a year now. I plan to do that before, I try to work again.

Some people are able to hold a job, and do really well at it. Before, I became so sick with my bipolar, i was told that I would do better with a job, that was low stress, and flexible. I got a job, landscaping for a while, and it was the best job, I ever had.

God Bless,Gypsy

Hi Gypsy,

Thank you for your insight. I feel like I am having a hard time working at the moment bc of my lack of concentration. I also have anger issues and I get irritated when I get manic. These are not always the best qualities to bring to work with you in the morning. I did landscaping once and I loved it too. I think that's why I love ceramics- there is just something about getting your hands dirty. Do you do any art?

Hi Carmen,

I think the least stressful type of job I could get would be something like working for myself doing something artistic. I have a few things in the works right now, but I just want to make sure it is the right thing for me to do. I have looked into how much it costs for individual health (and it all sucks), but it is affordable. As far as the other stuff goes it is kind of its own sort of art in that it is being created currently, and I imagine will be for some time (I hope to continue to grow). I also want to make sure that I am not making this choice bc of some manic episode(s). Eeehh! I don't know and I am frustrated at the moment so I should probably stop writing. What do you think about bipolar effects on how easy it is for one to leave a job?

Hi Geekgirl,

I love to garden. I am so happy it's spring!! I got out in my big yard, today, and did a bunch of work. I am starting to get my beds ready for plants. I can't plant anything yet, because it's too cold.

I like to cook. I don't do anything crafty. My friends are trying to get me to start being more creative. I used to do all kinds of stuff. Drawing, poetry, etc.

God Bless,Gypsy
