The one drug I don't recommend for anyone would be Topamax I've been on it for years and years.

You may end up loosing weight but also end up being moody fatique wanting to sleep a lot epilepsy meds do make you tired can give you blurry vision.

Lamictal may make you itch like crazy bt if you do to the extent of scratching yourself real bad w.any med you might be allergic to the AED.

If Lamictal makes you itch, you must get off it! I had the dreaded "Lamictal rash" on the bottom half of my face. It can kill you! Any itchy reactions to Lamictal should be reported to the pdoc immediately!

Hey Belinda, I am thinking of trying Trileptal, again. Do the side effects pass? How soon do they pass?

Thanks

God Bless,Gypsy

Belinda thank youu for that. I went to a neurologist, if I got the word right, with my neice. They think she has seizures in her sleep. There was alot of posters and things that I read so it kind of told me some of that but I never thought about hitting your head or anything like that. I was more thinking of diseases your are born with or that isn't created later by an event.

I believe that most of the meds used for treating bipolar are also ones for epilepsy, never have quite figured out why, but it seems they are dual purpose medications, Pixie dear, gaining weight should be the least of your worries right now, get better first and then worry about the weight..

Pixie darling, you are the only one that can make it a stressor, let the doctor know of your concerns, ask that they work with you on this, and do understand you could probably use 10 pounds or so more flesh on those bones with out causing any problems..lol.. these stick people they have as models now adays are not healthy.. and they are damaging the images that women all over the world have of themselves, for me? I am a pumpkin with legs..rofl.. but the biggest thing? I can look at myself in the mirror and like what I see, my happiness is what takes priority..and it is your health and happiness that has too also ..
