After a whole winter of depression, I think I might be starting to get some mania. It's been so long for the depression, I'm almost happy to have all this energy to get things done, but I'm afraid of the crash.

I'm starting work again next week. I was lucky enough to find a well-paying job in my field, Thats what triggered this. I cant be a zombie from starting a new med, so I don't want to call my pdoc.

Could it be that i'm just finally in a good mood? It's been so long, I forgot.

I take Abilify, Zoloft, vallium and ambien and have been stable on the meds for months now. I dont feel crazy and I dont have any strange urges. I feel in control.

Has anyone else just had a good mood without mania?

psk

Yes, but I don't take meds...if I don't get enough sleep it starts to be a problem, I have to make myself concentrate and force myself to slow down, it is hard...but, after years I know the symptoms when it begins to be too much energy....good mood is nice...

It's just too frustrating for me to slow down today. I got my 8 hours last night (with the help of my meds.), but sprung out of bed and started cleaning. There's so much to do and I havn't done a thing in months. I'll be going from doing nothing all day to working a phisically & mentally challenging job that I think I'll love. I am getting excited. I'm so afraid of crashing. Am I being naive in hoping that its just a good mood?

psk I'm not sure if its beguining mania or just a good mood. But This time of year I get real energised its sort of a seasonal thing.I don't like cold and most winter activitys are not enjoyable to me sooo as soon as spring starts to show [even a little] I start getting real happy and also start getting a lot of housework done.In the winter I slow down the housework piles up.It must be a real crappy thing to wonder every time you feel good if you feel good just because you do or ..is it a sign of impending mania,I never really thought about what that would be like. With the new job coming up I think you have something to feel real good about so as long as your sleeping you "do't feel crazy and don't have any strange urges and feel in control" BE HAPPY ALLOW YOURSELF SOME JOY lol amom

Hi psk,

It's okay to be excited.Enjoy it. I had a hard winter, too. I finally have some energy. It might be mania, and might get depressed, but, with your meds, maybe it wont be as extreme. If I am afraid, i will crash, i try to pace myself, and not push it. I tend to get overwhelmed with all the things I have to do. It's good to slow down, and just do what you can. One thing at a time. It will all get done eventually. It helps me to right a list of what, i need to do, and focus on my priorities, first.

Congradulations on the job. It's okay to feel good about your accomplishments.

God Bless,Gypsy
