If that is the question the answer is no and I don't think that anyone should be on just lithium. It takes different kinds of meds used in conjunction to manage bi polar.

my husband take 900 mg of lithium per day and is to take nothing else.

Hi,

When, I first started on meds 5mos ago, I was just on lithium, and I really liked it. Its supposed to be a really good med. Med docs like to try people on one med at a time to see how they do, before adding another one. so, watch your husband see how he does and keep communicating with the doctor. If he needs anything else they will probably add something.
