OA MEETINGS - Has anyone ever been to these?How do they work?

Actually, I've been attending them online. I've only been attending for a few weeks, so I don't know much of how it works. However, they are structured the same way AA is - actually the encourage you to read the AA big book as well. You start with an email loop, which is somewhat like these message boards. Then you get to know some of the group. Then they have online meetings. I guess once you get to a certain point you can ask for a sponsor, and they can help you with the process. Overeater's anonymous is for other eating disorders, too. I had a friend who went, and was anorexic, and bolemic, too. Eating disorders are an addiction, too.

Pixie, i am so glad you are getting help. I have a friend who went through treatment for her eating disorder, and is doing great, now.

She had to have a feeding tube put in. That's how severe it got for her. But, she is doing great, now. So, there is hope.

Keep us posted on how you are doing if you can while you are in there. Either way your are in my prayers.

We actually have a OA meeting that is near my town..I just need to break down and join.
