Pixie, not sure what you are looking for. They have the eating disorder groups online here also, which isn't very active..but it is growing!I posted a topic a while back about OA meetings. I haven't joined yet. But here is the post and the link below she referred me to for online support.

OA MEETINGS - Has anyone ever been to these? How do they work?

Thanks for any info

Amber

Nina80's reply-

Actually, I've been attending them online. I've only been attending for a few weeks, so I don't know much of how it works. However, they are structured the same way AA is - actually the encourage you to read the AA big book as well. You start with an email loop, which is somewhat like these message boards. Then you get to know some of the group. Then they have online meetings. I guess once you get to a certain point you can ask for a sponsor, and they can help you with the process. It's been a real encouragement to me. Here's the link to the one I attend: http://www.oa12step4coes.org/

No you aren't too far off. I do overeat its just what I do after that seems to be bigger. My husband and I have found a place that has inpatient outpatient. You have to go to the emergency room to get reffered. I am going to get clothes together like when I went in for Bipolar. Then my hubby is going to take me on Thursday. I may go sooner. The place is in a hoispital so even though it is a ways from here I am going to go to that emeergency room. I hope this does well for me. I have a few issues going in, I used to cut, I have started scratching my head until my hair falls out. I don't eat/binge and purge. And I think that getting back on bipolar meds might help some of this mixed with fixing the underlying problem. Then there is the rape that I thought I had behind me but has been coming back up lately.

Hi pixie, and momo,

Overeater's anonymous is for other eating disorders, too. I had a friend who went, and was anorexic, and bolemic, too. Eating disorders are an addiction, too.

Pixie, i am so glad you are getting help. I have a friend who went through treatment for her eating disorder, and is doing great, now.

She had to have a feeding tube put in. That's how severe it got for her. But, she is doing great, now. So, there is hope.

Keep us posted on how you are doing if you can while you are in there. Either way your are in my prayers.

God Bless,Gypsy

Thank you I will need all those prayers I am sure. I'm glad I decided to get help before I get that far. Overeater's anonymous had alot of good points on the website. I am going to go in the hospital and then go from there. I think I may follow up afterwards with that or something like that. I was crying when I read the one website. I think going through that might help me understand my mothers alcoholism too.
