I've been taking Lamictal and Geodon for about 2 months now and I've found that I have no emotions any more. Actually, I still get angry a lot, but I don't get sad, I'm not happy, I feel like a robot. An angry robot. I don't want to go off my meds because the last time I skipped a day I got so depressed I had to leave work and ended up sleeping for 2 days. Does anyone else feel like this and if so, how do you cope?

WELCOME, H10GAGE, it sometimes takes time for the meds to kick in...so 2 months you might just begin to feel the effects...discuss this with your doctor...You might want to keep a log, and bring it in to the doctor for your visits. Keep coming back to the site here...there are so many people on here...and they will be willing to listen and sometimes suggest things..we even have a lounge for off topic discussions...it has a joke section...Please feel at home here...and again WELCOME. I have the same feelings like you. I am not the old me, but Lamictal and Geodon, have suppressed alot of emotions. I have been on them longer than you and I have complained about it to my P-Doc and all he says is " that is the best drug combo I can put you on that does not ballon in weight like the other anti-psychotics that you have been on." I try to write out my feelings in poetry, but my depression has never gone away; but the highs of mania is most of the time is gone. My depression, unfortunately is the hardest one to treat...

Hang in there...

Hi h10gage,

Welcome. i am glad you found us. I am on Lamictal, and I love it. It doesn't shut me down at all. I tried taking Geodon, but, i don't think, I took it right. I was thinking of trying it again. I am on lithium, and it's great, but, I don't want to balloon up, again.

God Bless,Gypsy

Hey Gage, good to see you again, I'm with the others, I would talk with your doctor about this, see what they think, sometimes it takes a bit to get the right combo..

Try taking tegretol instead of geoden. It really helped me to switch and it helps control my anger, whil stabilizing other emotions like saddness and happiness. You don't need to be a robot
