This is gonna sound a bit loopy-loo but had a bad day today - well it started bad, the usual catatonic need to stand in shower until skin shrivels up or stay in bed and cry - but I had a sudden idea which gripped me - make some bread, get kneading with my hands until I'm sweating over the effort - and it's great, especially if you put herbs into it or lavender flowers. The physical and tactile pleaseure and the smell of yeast is so calming and somehow linked to a subconscious place

to do with nostalgic/basic needs and skills - I don't know what it is, and boy when you eat the bread you've made, you wonder why you ever bought a sliced loaf!!

Do it! Have a go! Get a recipe from the net - it's very simple as long as you have 'strong' flour - not sure what you call it in USA.

Best of baking!! Let me know how you get on!

Sarah
