MDJunction to me

jayna01"My name is Jayna and I wanted to take this opportunity to say how much MDJunction has meant to me. I always felt so alone before I joined in April of 2012. I felt like there wasn't anyone that really cared about me and what I was going through. I felt like there was no one that would truly listen to me in what I was feeling. Nobody was there for me. That is before I found MDJ!

I have found and met such good people on these forums. I never ever knew there were such compassionate people before MDJ. It's also nice to know that I can come here anytime and get support for what I am feeling. I feel like I have met some wonderful life long friends. It is also an outlet for me to try and help other people that are hurting. It gives me a good feeling inside and gives me self confidence in helping other people.

I hope MDJ will be as good for you as it has been for me! Many Blessings and Much love.

Flashback to my childhood, lol. Feeling like Sleepy/Dopey Dwarf, I am very lethargic and sleepy after starting Geodon. I sleep about 12 hours between going to bed at night and RETURNING to bed during the day b/c I can't "Wake up enough". This has been going on for the last week. More specifically, I have been able to wake up in the AM to "do what I gotta do" (before 8AM), then return to bed and sleep for the next 3 to 4 hours due to incessant grogginess. I am hoping this effect will "wear off" and would like some input from others who have been on, or who CURRENTLY are on this Rx.

I know I "need the sleep", but what the???? I "fight sleep" at night and haven't been getting to sleep until after midnight lately, and the only Rx that has worked for sleep is Seroquel, which is ANOTHER story. I feel "drugged" in the morning from it and find myself LITERALLY cramming food down my mouth, unless it is due to repressed anger and/or the depression.

The biggest problem I am facing with this is the inability to face and handle some URGENT issues I NEED to resolve during the day. I don't like the idea of what may transpire as a result of my inability to be AWAKE to handle these issues during daylight hours. Any takers for suggestions? The sleep issue is becoming chronic, so PLEASE don't hold back. Sideways Sideways <me sleeping>

Hi! From my personal experience when I'm put on new meds it takes my body a long time to adjust to them. Lamictal made me feel the same way you are feeling now, and took a couple of weeks before I lost the groggy feeling. I hope that the sleepiness wears off for you. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. Take care.

I was on Geodon for a few months and I know exactly what you mean. I could only take it at night, because if I took it during the day I was wasted. It took me a little while to adjust to the morning hangover, but it eventually went away. I never could get past the feeling it gave me when they had me start taking it during the day and eventually stopped taking it. I don't feel like it was doing me much good anyway. Hope this helps.

Thanks 4 the replies! I am calling my pdoc tomorrow and I do take it (Geodon)only at night. I just can't afford to be sleeping (wasting)my day away like this right now, so UP WITH ANXIETY!!! should be my new slogan. lol. Smile Feeling rather stuck at the moment.

I have been on Geodon for a couple of years. I was groggy at first too but that feeling goes away in time. I take it is the daytime and at night and it doesn't make me sleepy now. It is one of those meds that it just takes time getting used too.
Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor

My pdoc said I "present better" after being on G for only a week! Up with the happy drugs! (Rx's!). I am starting to feel more like me and more "rational", if that makes sense. Like not having false expectations of myself or others, or thinking I'm SuperWoman (well, actually I AM, lol) and being able to accomplish 2 days of work in a couple of hours. It's all uphill from here..................

My son takes Goedon and he was hungover in the morning but it went away and it works really well for him. Got rid of his paranoia which was really bad. My klonopin makes me a little sleepy but if I give it a half hour it usually goes away and I just feel calm which is really hard for me to do. I usually rapid cycle all day with anxiety.

When I first started taking lamictal it made me sleepy. It took me about two months to finally get used to it.
