I am on four different mental drug. I have severe tailbone pain, for a couple months now, I didn't fall or hurt it in any way it just all of sudden became very painful. I go 3/3 for my CT scan, but it frigon hurts. I have 800mg ibuprofen, does not work. What my question is will it be okay to ask for a stronger RX like Vicoden from my doctor or am I dealing with fire by taken a pill like that?

I think your doctor will know what will be ok with your meds. I've taken pain meds with my regular meds, but I think they're all different.

Sorry about your pain. Being in pain does not help with the depression.

Amy, I know what you mean about the Ibuprofen...It does nothing for pain, unless the pain is from inflamation... It is not a pain pill as such. Tylenol is your pain med sold over the counter. All pain is not caused by inflamation. I don't know if your tail bone is inflamed, but well......Please just try Tylenol Extra Strength. Amy, don't get yourself in trouble with Vicoden. It is a very stout drug....narcotic!!!! It has side afects that can make it far more trouble than it is worth. Constipation, dry mouth, dependency, all kinds of stuff we don't need unless it is for a very short term. I have walked around with my tailbone floating freely after a break, for almost 20 years now. There is nothing that can be done. (The CAT scan will show any tissue damage you have, but an MRI is more likely to show skeletal involvement. Ask your doc what he is lookuing for with the CAT scan.

Love

Gloria

Amy as long as your doctor know what you are taking of the other medications, I am sure they can give you something that is going to help, my tail bone is hurting too, I had fell a few years back, and then again only a couple of years ago, suddenly it hurts like hell to sit in a chair no matter how cushy it is, get yourself one of those pillows that are designed to take the pressure off the tail bone.. I refer to them as butt pillows.. I am currently using a pillow like you have on your bed, for sitting on till I get paid this Friday and can get a butt pillow, I take 10mg lortabs for other pain that I have and it doesn't interfere with the lamictal I am taking

That they can Gloria, my mom bless her heart, when i told her I wanted a butt pillow, bought me one out of one of the catalogs she gets, it had the idea right but wasn't designed for a butt like mine..lol, it contained a 1" egg crate type foam in it, but you want to hear something funny? Glenn and I had kittens prior to moving and everytime I would get up from the couch, the kittens would move in on my butt pillow and curl up in the "hole" I would have to move them to get my pillow back..the little sneaks would do it again, as soon as I moved..

lol, it was too funny, I could not help but laugh at the little shits, I was sad when we had to give them up, but it was a choice of keeping them or having a place to live, hoping one day that we can get our own place again and be able to have animals, I just love them, best I can do now is adopt the cats that roam around here, and slip food out to them..
