Sleeping? Isn't that something you do in the middle of the afternoon? I thought tossing and turning and raiding the fridge was what you do at night!

By the way, I fell asleep while driving once. My guardian angel protected me, like usual. Could have been the worst and last mistake I ever made.

Judylee, sounds silly I know, but Milk really does help with sleep. If I am truely whacked and can't turn off the old thinker, I will eat a bowl of cereal with lots of milk and most of the time it helps me nod right off. Luck with this one, sleeplessness can be a real problem.

Love

Gloria

Hey Judy,

When I can't sleep, I drink a cup of chammomile tea (it has natural sleep inducers). If that doesn't help, I take a hot bath and read a little (the back and forth eye motion sometimes lulls me). After that, I will lay down on my bed and go through a progressive muscle relaxation. I start with my toes and alternate tensing and releasing each major muscle group up through the legs, buttocks, stomach, chest, arms, shoulders, neck and face, tensing for ten seconds and releasing slowly while exhaling. All the time that I am doing that, I am telling myself that I am heavy and warm, and I am breathing very very deep in through my nose and blowing it out of my mouth.

That usually does the trick for me. Takes a good hour or so from tea to zzzz's, but it usually works. Good luck, no sleep is a tricky thing...

If you don't have any chammomile, you can just drink any regular decaffeinated tea. Or even just hot water with a litlle lemon. Something to warm your inside and still your nerves. Like Gloria said, milk is good, warm milk is even better...

In learning to know other things, and other minds, we become more intimately acquainted with ourselves, and are to ourselves better worth knowing.

the chamomile works wonders, there are all kinds of sleepy time teas, for anyone who falls asleep while driving or at the drop of a pin, they needed to be checked out for sleep apnea..and or narcolepcy the sleeping disorder..
