Okay, I have been having mixed episodes (and some manic episodes) since this past Monday night. I thought that it was just a one time episode on Monday night, but then Tuesday sucked as I was trying to recover. I was so busy this week I just tried to ignore the whole thing, and then low and behold on Friday night (last night) I had another mixed episode. THEN, I woke up manic and then CRASHED into another mixed episode later today. I'm sure that you have figured out by now that I am a severe rapid cycler. I have no idea what is going on with me, and I am taking my medication religiously. I feel like I am going insane, and I do not have a psych appointment for next week yet. Please cross your fingers that I can get an appointment set up on Monday for this coming week, but in the meantime... any suggestions?

Sorry to hear you are having a rough week!

Considering how miserable you are and how you are already cycling so rapidly, I'd call the doctor's office and get some medical help. It sounds like your medication is not working for you right now.

To wait might put you through even more misery before your medication can be adjusted. I say forget the being 'strong' sh _ _ we've been told. Too much and too often I've hung on and was 'strong' I now know the destruction of my mental faculties and physical condition that has caused me.

Everyone has that faculty to pull extraordinary strength or stamina for very short periods of time, but others have no idea what this is like trying to keep together long enough to make it another moment or day.

Get thee to a phone and call your doctor and stay away from the nunnery! Only you know how much it is disrupting your life and delays while the medication is clearly not working for you may give a false indication in your records as to how well you respond to it.

Now I'm sure you know I'm not a professional, so if you've read this far, I hope something in the pile of words can give you encouragement and hope and I hope for you wisdom to deal with the things you need to do for yourself!

Hugs! and Hope!

P.S. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. I'll be thinking of you often as I have them planted all around my garden!

Thanks MsBimbo,

I actually saw my doctor today, and he moved up my medication! Hopefully in a couple days I will start feeling a difference!

Thanks for you support!

So glad you got to see your doctor! I hope you'll soon feel the difference, too!

I've been on the new medication for 1 week and 1 day and in the one more day I can tell my mind is coming back again.

You take care of that sunflowergirl for me, ok?

Hugs!

I went through the same thing 3 and a half weeks ago. It took me 2 weeks to get an appointment in this rural part of Arizona. I suufered badly during that time. Invega and lithium combo got me stable in a couple of days. I hope you have the same luck.

I went through that a couple of weeks ago. I got off of my Abilify, and tried to just be on Lamictal, and Buspar. I tried to keep it together. But the symptoms just got worse. It was mentally painful. i held out for 2 weeks, and finally blew. I had a horrible manic episode. I finally got on Lithium, and now, I am feeling better.

So, I don't recommend trying to play super woman, like, I did.
