MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

I was so stressed today because my pdoc tried to cancel and reschedule for later this week due to having to fly to Miami today for her friend's funeral.

I got the call at 12:05 asking if I could wait till she got back because she needed to cancel my 2:15pm appointment.

I begged the receptionist to work me in since I only take like 5 minutes tops of my pdoc's time, not like those other patients that seem to be in her office for 15-20 minutes!

She said if I could get there by 12:45 she would squeeze me in, I was like hellz ya I can be there!

I must have got stuck at every traffic light and I was trippin and cursing Murphy's Law for screwing with me like this!!

I got there on time and I was so relieved to see her. I care about her because I've known her for 7 years so I asked her if she was ok and I spent our 5 minutes talking with her about her friend of 30 years who had passed away.

Pdoc's need love too! She wrote my prescriptions and I wasn't sure yet if the PAP medicines had been re-ordered and she didn't know if my meds had arrived yet.

We went to the receptionist who handles the patient assistance programs and she was like "yes they came in this week"! Freakin awesome dude! My medicines for the next three months had arrived and I was back on Vyvanse and I am so grateful to be here with good news. I gotta start trusting my higher power, God! He takes good care of me when I let him!

Oh and now I'm a 7 up from a 5 this morning and I predict an imminent climb to #8 before it's all said and done.

All is well in Dark's universe! Thanks for reading my rant, you guys rock!

Yeah neon, I really like her because she is smart and kind and good looking, she is really cool and the only pdoc to ever give me lots of free samples of the expensive meds I'm on when I did'nt have any money or insurance.

She also is very smart and if I tell her something is wrong, she knows exactly what to adjust every time she is right and I trust her with my life.

My last pdoc was a guy and he was a dumb ass that never listened to me and I didn't trust him!

Dark,

I'm so glad you have a pdoc you can trust!

The pdoc I had last year was the same way as your previous pdoc. He NEVER listened to me when I told him I was rapid cycling or manic. During the 1.5 years I saw him, he only adjusted my meds ONCE and that was when I didn't realize that I was having a manic episode (my tdoc was the one who told me I was having a manic episode). He never bothered to explain what hypomania and mania were, so I went for 3 years not realizing that I can have hypomanic episodes. Everytime I felt exciteable, restless, irritable, etc. I always blamed it on mania when it very well could have been hypomania.

When I saw my new pdoc yesterday, I was worried that he would make med changes and not agree with my taking Clonazepam, but he was awesome about it. He said it sounds like my current combo is working really well for me and that there is no reason to change anything. What a relief! Smile

neon, you and I share the same story regarding not knowing for many years that we were always hypo-manic.

I thought I was not bipolar anymore because I was not staying awake for weeks on end.

I was always really weird and emotional and I would break down and cry sometimes for no reason. I was so messed up when off my meds for all those years before and during my time in the Army.

I thought I was insane and I tried so hard to pretend to be a "normie" but I would have a beer and would flip the f out!

I wish someone would have told me what was happening to me was bipolar rapid cycling and hypo-mania.
