ok I admit this sounds a little strange but...When someone is manic it seems like so many things are heightened is it possible ones ability to tune in to other peoples thoughts/feelings? Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this?

i have noticed this too. it seems like language has several meanings. like the choice of words and sentence structure of others around me makes me be able to read their thoughts. i think also body language can be read. like if someone is talking to me and telling me something and blinking a lot i think they might be lying. our senses of smell and hearing i beleive are heightended when manic. perhaps people give off scents when fearful or otherwise that signal us. don't know?
I enjoy each precious day.

Yes, we are all actually alien beings, and corrispond through mental telepathy! In fact I hear the Mothership calling me now LOL

Ok, a little reality check here!! In a hypo-manic or manic state we do have the ability to process stimulus at an incredable rate( we are actaully taking in much more information from our enviroment than others around us). In fact we suck in so much sensoral information that at some point we become over whelmed and can quickly slip into a psychotic or delustional state depending on severity of our state. So I'm not discounting that with this fluid access to sensoral information we do appear to be able to read others quickly, and with sometimes amazing accurcy. But would I say this is psychic powers <NOT>. Just an ability to process information at an increased rate, and understand it at a subconcious and concious level. It more about brain centered biochemistry than paranormal activity. geez, what a party pooper I am. LOL

Tomorrow I will also show you all how powerful my mind is by bending nails with my loin cloth. LOL I can't tell you how many times I have read people like a book, I have spent 20+ years training myself to allow that kind of being state to just happen, and just simply be! A very in tune moment to moment process of just accepting exactly what your feeling at that very moment, and how it relates to everything sensorally around you and within you. Who knows, just maybe that training has allowed me to survive bipolar in spite of being medication intolerant? But it has nothing to do with the paranormal; in fact it's exactly the opposite of it. Because it actually an increased availablity of exactly what's there in front of you, allowing your senses impowerment, and trusting in your instincts is just inhanced reality. The benefits of this inhanced reality for me is a much more Intimacy both spiritually and as well as my interaction with others. Kind of like a little surprise bonus we have for all the suffering we feel and experience with bipolar.

that bipolardorkness and goober:

Amom, if you want to lock it and start a new thread, same topic, just say so!

Thanks!
