I've really been into snacking on frozen grapes and fresh mango slices lately. And yogurt. Lots of yummy yogurt. I think it helps my body just work a little better, if that makes any sense. And it does help with my weight loss efforts.

Well with your background you should be giving us recipes! I love Mousaka but I have never made it.

Another yummy thing I have made lately is very, very finely chopped vidalia onion and red pepper and lean ground turkey seasoned with black pepper and dill sauteed and rolled with a light smear of low-fat ranch dressing into a leaf of butter lettuce. It's messy to eat but good.

Petey777 I have heard frozen grapes are great. I always mean to toss some in the freezer to try and never remember to.

ive put on 4.5 stone because of olanzapine and risperidone, eating one small meal and some takeaways have somehow done that so im on a strict diet of 400 calories a day for a couple of months to see if that will help shift it. im desperate.

Careful with that 400 calories a day. I did that once when I simply lost my appetite completely. After a while you stop losing weight bc your body thinks you're starving and your metabolism starts to slow down.

The one comment on healthy eating I ever heard in culinary school involved yogurt. An instructor said if you had to eat just one food make it yogurt. I'm not the biggest fan but I've been trying lately and it's growing on me. But frozen mango and grapes, yum!

Centerseeker, that sounds fun and yummy! I have 3 big beautiful bell peppers in my fridge, red, yellow, green. They just looked to pretty to pass up but I haven't done anything with them. I love grilling them too.

But I seriously have no healthy recipes ideas. It's a mindset I just haven't embraced..yet.

I'm currently addicted to a trail mix from WinCo. It's brown. So I tell my boyfriend to buy the brown stuff. It's chock full of calories, but I measure it at night in a vain attempt to keep the calories down.

sjane23 as Soy says do be careful. That doesn't sound healthy to me. I put on a lot of weight from meds to and I am slowly loosing it with a reasonable diet based on choosing good foods rather than calories and walking. It can be done without going to drastic measures.

Oops. Posted before I was done!

What are you going to do with those gorgeous peppers Soy?

My meds don't make me gain weight, but I am somewhat overweight. Instead of making regular burgers, I use a pound of ground turkey and mix it with 1/2 c. cooked quinoa, and make burgers out of that. You can't taste the quinoa and it gives the turkey a more "beefy" texture. Plus quinoa is so healthy for you. When I cook the quinoa I add a ton of garlic and any other seasonings that sound good, and it flavors the turkey.

For me the biggest thing that has helped me lose weight is cutting out sugar. I was shocked... I stopped drinking soda and lost about 15 pounds that month. (And then it got hot, and ice cold soda just tastes so good....)

I'm going to have to look up if quinoa is high in fiber. If it is I will start adding it to my turkey too. Good idea rodey.

One of my favorite things to cook is tomatoes, red onion, kalmata olives breifly sauteed in a olive oil with a splash of balsamic vinegar then angel hair and feta cheese tossed in. Seriously delicious and it takes longer for the water to boil for the pasta than any other step. I haven't tried this with the Ronzoni Smart Taste yet. Sadly they don't make an angel hair so it will have to spaghetti and it will have to be a small side and not a big plate but I think I will make it tonightwith some chicken and italian green beans.

I love kalamata olives! I think I'll buy some eggplant and summer squash and make some ratatouille. And add kalamata olives! Smile
