I'm new as I found this site searching on google for "weight loss after stopping Seroquel" because on Tuesday I went to the psych doc and told him how my sleep study showed I was fine and that my horrid snoring started after I started taking Seroquel in 2003. As did gaining 80 pounds in the first two years and developing Diabetes. He took me cold turkey off of the Seroquel and put me on the oldest one he could think of Thorazine.

My husband said that my snoring is now very light instead of a raging bear and I'm praying some of this weight will come off and my Diabetes improves.

Welcome, I am also very new to this. I really enjoy sifting through other people posts, it actually makes me feel normal sometimes. I hope it does the same for you.

@ Bfly I was doing a lot of research before getting diagnosed and this forum ranks very high on Google. That is how I found it, there were others but I found this one to be better for me.

"Your world full of creeps
Zombies walk the street
9 to 5 barely alive
Have a beer go to sleep
And start all over again

Same gray suit
Same brown shoes
Same headache
Same pills
He goes home thinks about (edit pert T&C)how bad his life is.
But hes got his diploma
Got to give him that

I got a radical place
Got my own private space
It's my sanctuary
It's the castle of doom
I'm the king of my room
Just a Quasimodo
Let the world blow away
This is where I will stay
In my sanctuary
Got my mess on the floor
Got my lock on my door

Go Away
Sanctuary
Go Away
Sanctuary

Someday I gotta get outta here
Gotta put on a shirt put on a tie
Get a job buy a car get some insurance
Cuz I'll probably have a heart attack
Before I'm 40

I guess I'll find the perfect wife
And I'll have 2.3 perfect kids
And if I work real hard
And die real fast
They'll all turn out just like me"

Welcome. I found this site through a yahoo search for bipolar information. this site has been a blessing. you will find a community of people that are similar to you and makes you not feel so alone with all the "normal" peeps out in the world. for me, this place is an escape because it gives me a chance to see how other people deal with what i am or to remind me that i am not alone or as nuts as others (LOL). the advice and support you get from others is superb.

I actually find it a bit pathetic that I couldn't remember how or why I ended up here- but I am glad I did!

I wanted to say HELLO =] as well- I have just got diagnosed with being bi-polar in april and am afraid of my own shadow now and feel so differently. At first I was only on anti-depressants and smoked weed and drank a lot for 3 months before my manic attack/panic attack. It was not light- 6 cops had to restrain a 5 1' small female. That was the first time I went to the hospital for 7/8 days and didn't take any meds. Then I had hallucinations/delusions and went back by calling the cops on myself. I did it another time with going home that same day and finally the last time I went in for 10 days but This time I realized I needed to take the meds or I will have a horrible manic attack but I drank and smoked weed. Now I am taking my meds as prescribed and I stopped smoking and drinking. I feel so pathetic that I had to go to the hospital 4 times and also feel so alone that I am the only one in my family who has to for the brain. I need a support group. I need people who understand what I feel and how hard it is to do simple things and go back to being a normal person.

-<3 thank you for reading this.

Thanks for the welcoming messages. That is exactly what I'm looking for a place to feel "normal" when compared to most I'm not. I've been a part of another forum for years (non medical related) and I feel like the only one that is like me there and that is sort of lonely. It's nice to find a forum where I am in the majority and not minority. Smile
