Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would pick up my Lamictal amd Thyroid from the pharmacy in San Francisco and drop it off at my UPS store mail box for them to mail to me.

I only have a health insurance that works in San Francisco and there is only one pharmacy (Walgreens on Market Street) that will dispense it. The health insurance doesn't let you transfer the prescription to any other Walgreens. I am in Texas right now because of job loss and housing loss (another bipolar poverty cycle) and unfortunately my only health Insurance is San Francisco city health insurance.

Can anyone pick up the prescriptions and walk them a few blocks to mail them to me?

1) I'd write a letter saying you can pick it up for me and email/fax the letter to you; I'll also call Walgreens and say you can pick it up for me. I was a caregiver for my mom and so I did this all the time for her.

2) my copayment is around $5-10 and I can pre-mail you the money of that helps.

3) the Walgreens is at 776 Market Street, San Francisco

4) the UPS store is at 660 4th Street, San Francisco

5) the UPS store will mail the medicines to me in my next batch of mail forwarding. Or if it is easier for you, you can put them in one of the US Post Office flat-rate mailing envelopes and I'll give you the $4.50 or whatever it costs.

I have an old Clipper bus card I can mail you with the copayment money if that helps you get to the Walgreens. I think it

has $12 on it. I have a Forever 21 gift card with $18 on it if you'd like that. Maybe there is some favor o can do for you from Texas?!?!?

To get the medicine here in Texas is about $172, so I have the choice of paying my health insurance premium or the one time out-of-pocket Lamical/Thyroid 30-day supply. Id rather keep my SF health insurance going because of pre-existing conditions. If someone could pickup and mail me the medicines, this could really help me a lot. I honestly don't have anyone in SAn Francisco who would do this favor for me. The UPS store won't courier and I fear if I placed an ad on craigslist, some druggie will just steal my meds.

Any body have spare time and interest? If so, please message me in private.

Thanks

When I had prescriptions from Walgreens and was in Texas, I was able to pick them up there! I'm baffled that you aren't able to do the same.

Also, Walgreens has a generic prescription plan. Lamictal is the brand name, lamotrigene is the generic.

It's been my experience that the generics are as good as the brand names. Drug companies enjoy patent rights for a period of time (because the put money into research and testing that is costly).

It pays to shop around, however, Canada Meds (Google it) offers a full line of drugs for less money, and the quality is regulated by the Canadian equivalent of our Food & Drug Administration.

Diagosed with bipolar in 1985, I'm learning to deal with it better since finding my "family" at Alcoholics Anonymous, and as of 1/3/2013, I will have one year of sobriety and more clarity than I've ever experienced in my lifetime.

It is Lamotrigine, the generic. I just say Lamictal because that's te word my doctor uses, even though it is really Lamotrigine.

Yes, the insurance is part of the san frsncisco health plan. I can only Pick up prescriptions at SF general hospital dispensary or that one Walgreens on 776 Market. Believe me, I checked.

The few people I know in SF won't do me the favor. My mom is in the nursing home and can't. My sisters are angry she is in the nursing home because of me and won't. My ex is angry I left and won't. I can't ask my ex-coworkers. Pretty much the entire 2+ years I was there, I was isolated as a caregiver for my mom and I have nobody over there to pick up the prescriptions.

I am investigating the prescription savings plans at pharmacies and talking to my doctor about switching to Lithium because it's only $12, even without insurance. I have to explore the retail price and frequency of blood tests though.

At this point, as I haven't solved money issues and I need to keep that SF insurance rather than risk uninsured, I just need my Lamotrigine from the 776 Market Street pharmacy in San Francisco mailed to me.

Can anybody help me?

Dang if only you had asked a bit earlier, my uncle technically lives close by there but he is doing a job down in texas. Not sure when he is to be back. Usually goes on jobs a few months.

Walgreens ships perscriptions. Just go online set up a pharmacy account and if they have already been filled go into an online pharmacy chat and tell the tech your problem and they will pull the ones that have been filled and allow you to process a refill to be shipped.
