Welp, I know it's not the smartest thing to do, but I stopped taking the Seroquel. I'm boycotting. I have an appt with my pdoc in 2 weeks and will be asking for him to put me on something else, but I can't handle the continued weight gain anymore which is not only terrible for my self esteem, but it is also wreaking havoc on my health. It has seriously gotten ridiculous. In the 1 week that I have not been taking it, I've lost 4 pounds.

I can feel mania coming on, but it is a helluva lot better than the depression I've been sinking to everytime I even LOOK at a scale. Actually, I'm kinda peppy and it is a nice feeling.

I'm glad you'll be talking with your psychiatrist about some options. Read up on what to avoid during the first couple weeks. I believe that vigorous exercise is not recommended among other things. Good luck!

I've had to take Unisom for sleep. It works pretty well.

I take seroquel-i am ok on it but i think my other meds balance it out-curbing my appetite or something. Anyways that sounds like a good idea asking your doctor for something else. good luck
