Over the last few weeks iv bn awful. Bn v low tearful really tired no energy and just feeling like i was better off dead. i went for blood tests and my lithiu. levels were v low for me at 0.5. im havinv to trial exacf 12hrs between lithium in the am and pm and havkng more bloods in a week.

Last year i lost 2st went to the gym twice a week and felt great but jv put 10lbs back on as had flu for 3wks then ended up in hospital and i just dont hv any energy for the gym n cant be bothered to diet and im v depressed.

I don't take Lithium, but I'm here to support you. There are others here that do though. I'm sorry your levels are so low and you are feeling this way. I hope taking more of it will take care of what you are feeling. It's never good to feel the way you do. Especially after so many years of doing good. I hope that your doctor figures out what is going on and you start to feel well again. There is a lot of support given here, so feel free to post as much as you want. Welcome to the group!

My doctor told me that when lithium was first prescribed for bipolar disorder, the lithium level a person had was considered very important. It was thought that if the lithium level got toxic, it could do real damage to a patient. So for that reason, lithium levels were drawn on a much greater frequency than they are now.

My lithium level seems to do best at 0.8 ppm (parts per million, I think), and the range of lithium levels in the blood are from 0.6 to 1.2 ppm.

So your level is in the range.

Diagosed with bipolar in 1985, I'm learning to deal with it better since finding my "family" at Alcoholics Anonymous, and as of 1/3/2013, I will have one year of sobriety and more clarity than I've ever experienced in my lifetime.

Yes she said its the lower end of the range but its too low for me as iv bn 0.5 twice before in 2008 and 2009 and both times i was the same as now and had to go on fluoextine. Im trying this week taking lithium exactly every 12hrs to the dot and will c if it helps to level it back out.
