I heard that there has been some discussion about this drug. It has been a nightmare for me.

Anyone tried this medication? I was put on it over three weeks ago, it has been hell and just as bad as the crap before that.

I have not been on here in a while and I have had some serious set backs. Another call to the doctor next week.

my reactions have been more trips to the bathroom, double vision at times. Concentration and speaking. I need to get off this or regroup. I'm on 5mg at night. This is after several tries on other drugs and I wish I could just go it alone with nothing. I'm so tired of trying to find something that works, and my stress level and trying to be a regular guy (chores, personal health, family man, etc) is causing major issues. I use to have a grip on reality and that grip is losing hold.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about all the negative side effects you are experiencing from Saphris! I am weaning myself off of it because of the extreme thirst, weight gain, and loss of sensation. I have tried other anti-psychotics for Bipolar Disorder I, and they ALL make me gain weight. Since taking Saphris I have also had a lot of anxiety. I don't know if that is a side effect of getting off of Xanax three months ago. I went to see my psychiatrist yesterday, and he increased my Lamictal from 100 mg to 200 mg. I also take 40 mg of Celexa. The doctor added 40 mg of Buspar twice a day. I feel better already! I know this is weird, but being on Saphris made me drink a lot more Diet Coke and chew several packs of gum a day. I know how frustrating it is to not find the right meds. Lamictal is great- I don't feel any side effects. Celexa reduces my appetite, and Buspar is a great anxiety pill; it is not addictive since it is not a benzodiazopem.
