Hi guys,

It's been a while since I posted. I am doing really well. My meds have pretty well leveled out, I'm doing pretty good in school, and my depression seems to have lifted. Smile

I did have to get surgery done. I have Crohn's, and it caused some hiney trouble. I had a tear, and when they were doing the surgery the doc found that I had 4 severely prolapsed hemorrhoids (tmi I know, but I'm sure ya'll will forgive me), so I had a hemorrhoidectomy, too.

This has been the hardest surgery I have ever recovered from. (I am 12 days post-op.) It has been horrificly painful to say the least, but I have turned a corner. As a matter of fact, yesterday was the first day I went all day with no (narcotic) pain medicine.

Unfortunately, I had to miss quite a bit of school, so I am playing catch-up from hell! One class inparticular is giving me fits, but I got this, lol. I was abole to get the lectures I missed from a friend, but it is so difficult sitting still and listening to them. It's funny that the class is only 55 minutes, but when I listen to the lecture at home, it takes me 3 hours to get through one because rewind so often, lol.

Also, my husband started a new job. He has always (22 yrs) done physical, hard labor to earn a living. Well, this new job doesn't requie any of that! He is in the same line of business, construction, but is an overseer now. It's been tough for him. Every one he works with wears clothes without oil and dirt stains on, but instead they all have nice button-down collard shirts on, lol. I forgot to mention that he started this new job in New Jersey (we live in Florida) the day of my surgery, so he ha dot miss all the fun of the recover, lol.

He will stay there in Jersey, and we will still live here. Luckily, they fly him home once a month and for major holidays. Many of his past jobs have worked farther away, and he had to find his own way back and to. This job is bitter sweet, though. He has gotten a $12 raise with LOTS of perks, but the cost is him living apart from us. THIS is why I am in school to become a nurse, so that he doesn't need to make so much. When I can work, and we have two incomes, he can get a job that allows him to be home at night.

So anyhow, that's about it, I guess. Everyone here is always so supportive, I just wanted to tell you guys how I've been since my last posts.

Thanks,

GirlDotson

It's good to hear from you again. I am sorry you had to go through the surgery, but it sounds like you are recovering well and are going to be a lot better off. That's great about your husband's new job, though it is so far away, at least he is no longer having to work such hard labor anymore and is making more money. I hope you get caught up in your classes okay. Thanks for the update.

Long time no see! Thanks for the catch up! Sorry about your surgery and falling behind at school....you can do it! I know you can.

Congrats on your hubby's job, even with all the challenges it sounds like a good one. Having the two of you together is a good goal for finishing school.
