First off, I remember Jamison in "An Unquiet Mind" buying multiple bug (or snake?) bite sets . . . . There's one lipstick I have that I really like, and out of fear that it would disappear off the shelf I just bought another, just in case. I've done this once before with a different lipstick (not that I can afford it!). Or maybe it's OCD -- I've got a streak of it to say the least -- but my OCD is often influenced by my bipolar . . . .

Does anyone else do this?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Z

I buy lipsticks, too, but I'm always buying different ones because I like the color. The funny thing is that they always almost exactly the same color when I get them home.

I also buy lots of fleece pajamas. I have so many pairs, but I keep buying more.

My opinions are just opinions, and should be taken as such. I am not an expert on medicines or BP disorder.

I have a fear that my favorite shade will disappear, and that I will run out. An anxiety thing? A hoarding thing? OCD fueled by bipolar?

Yeah Zadie, I store up a lot of things, just in case the shop runs out etc. I think my best one is toliet paper. Am not happy unless I have about thirty rolls of the stuff. Keep five in the bathroom. Never know. Smile

I am the only one in the house.

Ah, about twelve packets of dried milk...the freezer part of my fridge is full of frozen veggies. There is more of course.

I do all this "hoarding" in case I am sick and cannot get to the shops, this causes panic. But I can easily get on line and have food etc delivered the next day. And there is a mimi mart across the road from me.

Am not one of those hoarders who have a first class mess in their house thank heavens.

Although the house is full of stuff eg seven sets of flying ducks over the kitchen/dinning room walls. Coffee table full of child's sewing machines. Four wall brackets full of china, ie Royal Dolton ladies.

Had eleven of them, decided a couple of weeks ago I needed to even them up. What did I do? Came home with two of them. Now I need to buy another one to even them up.

Maybe I should have a word with my tdoc about this when I see him next Wednesday.

I like a particular mascara and it's sometimes out so when it's in, I buy it up. I guess that's hoarding. Is is bipolar? I don't know. I don't have OCD.

I put sweaters in the freezer to revitalize them. It kills bugs (not that there are any). I do this sometimes with sweaters found in the back of the closet. It is weird, yes -- and there are no frozen veggies -- but surprisingly practical, if you're the kind of squeamish person I am ~

Zadie, Guess I had not better go to your fridge looking for frozen veggies. I might find I have eaten half if not all (given my increased appietite at present) of one of your jumpers, before I know it. Just hide your favourite ones.

A new treatment for Bipolar Disorder? Gee dunno what it will do to the digestive system though. Smile

You know the freezing of your sweathers, may just cause the fibers to re-alighn, such that they fall back into their new state.

Lipstick is a big thing. I like the Revlon matte lipstick and it's hard to find, so I buy like 4 of them just in case I can't find any. It really bothers me not to have extra on hand. Funny things we do, huh?
