Keep the dialogue open with her if you can, but in the meantime you need to help YOU. This means seeing docs, taking meds, getting counseling, paying attention to your behavior (note on the last two, I'd say the same to anyone, bp or not, who ended a relationsip, b/c that's how we learn from our mistakes and from our successes).

If she's the one for you, she'll return. No person suffering from bipolar should ever have to settle for having a partner who can't love through "in sickness" and is only there for the good times.

Remember: whatever you do, you cannot force or manipulate her into coming back to you. So tell her how you feel in the most positive way possible, talk about you but don't make it all about you--she left for her own reasons and may be feeling the relationship became all about you and your illness and not her needs--just let her talk it through.

I started a subscription to BP magazine bphope.com and love it.

I also read Loving Some with Bipolar Disorder by Julie Fast--this is a great book for your girl.

Go to the bookstore, check out the psychology/self-help sections and see the books on bipolar disorder, and read through them there. See what you like and go from there.

This is not a definitive list of anything--just a few suggestions off the top of my head. Best of luck to you! Let us know how it goes for you.
