Ex Mother-in Law: "If you had a closer relationship with God, He would heal you."

Co worker: "But you don't act crazy!" (who said I was crazy!!)

Ex friend: Just never spoke to me again.

My family- they just don't mention it, even when I was in the hospital.

I get this one alot from old friends "oh I can totally see that" I am not offended, but find it funny.

My sons best friend who 13, said your bp right... oh totally get it he said and went on to a story how I get real mad and then a second later was happpy go lucky.

I tell everyone I am bp and am not ashamed in the least, I find this label very comforting and is something that describes my personality to a "T". Bipolar is me and I embrass it (although get angry and sad and frustrated at the same time).

I don't remember it completely verbatim, but it was basically like this:

Boss: This is your last chance. If you continue with this behavior we'll have to let you go.

Me: I've acted like this because I have manic depressive illness. [Hmm? Didn't accept before this moment.]

Human Resource Director Ahole: That is no excuse. Mental illness is no excuse.

I don't know. Maybe it wasn't an excuse. For a year at that point I had the diagnosis but refused it and the bipolar medication and even stopped seeing the pdoc. I became so mixed manic that a day later I went back to that pdoc suicidal and an alcohol abuser and went into the hospital for the first time. I had actually written a letter of resignation and gave it to my boss but she ignored it based on what my husband told her my state of mind was. From that point I was medicated.

Bipolar 1, Simple Partial Seizures, and migraines

Psychiatric meds:

Lithium ER (900 mg)*Tegretol XR (1400 mg)*Lamictal (100 mg)*Geodon (160 mg)*Navane (5 mg)*Seroquel XR (100 mg)*Klonopin (.5 mg)

Ativan 1 mg "as needed" (I rarely take it.)*Seroquel regular 50 mg "as needed" (Only if I'm getting elevated.)

Other meds:

Propranolol (40 mg)*Levothyroxine (150 mcg)

My mix is side effect friendly for me.

"That stuff isn't real. That's a big fairytale excuse for not trying. You just need to pull yourself up by the bootstraps. You are just trying to get attention and you need to stop trying to make people feel sorry for you. Everyone feels a little off now and again."

Levothyroxine 100 mg/day

"its all in the mind" I cant stand it when people say this or something along the lines. Do they not think that the reason I refused medication and did not believe it myself for a year of my first diagnoses was that I was determend I could overcome it with willpower. I dont mind when some one calls me crazy, I may be crazy. That is just who I am and bipolar did not change that At all. Any one who does not watch TV is considered crazy by people who watch TV, perhaps because It disconnects them wish society. But when ever some one says its all in the mind it throws me on a guilt trip and at times even stop taking my medications for a while

I had a delusional christian man pray over me and tell me that I didnt need medication. This is one of the reasons why i walked away from christianity. Another person told me its all in my head. So I told her that I hear 30 to 40 voices when I am not medicated and she shut her mouth. We are not friends any longer. I hate people who are ignorant and uneducated.
