"I have just been diagnosed as bipolar." (terranical)

MDJunction to me

mabri"When I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with fibromyalgia, I didn't know where to turn. I got on my computer and looked for a support group where I could talk to other people with the same disease and get some help...Information, suggestions, mostly just what I can do now that I have this.....disorder/disease/syndrome...I didn't even know what to call it. I found MDJ, and yes, there was a support group for fibro. I started a post, and figured I would never get an answer. However, very quickly I was welcomed in, and became really involved in the group. I received help, support, friendship and the feeling of being truly cared about by these strangers who had become like family to me. Now, I have been here for about a year and a half...I have become a group leader, and love every minute of it. It is so wonderful to be able to help others. I still receive help and answers from the members in this group. The fibromyalgia is where I go to help, support, listen, care and even laugh. I don't know what I would do without this group." Ok, hi, just wondering if I "hear voices" or at least repeated swearing in my head does that mean I'm misdiagnosed as Bipolar & i'm actually still schizoaffective as they first thought?

Also does anyone else suspect that they are involved in spiritual warfare or demonic attack for the sake of their soul / mind?

Am I alone here? Is this a delusion? Or could it actually be real & behind much of my menatl health battles?

Discussion on this topic is most welcome.

I might add for background information that I dabbled in the occult when I was

young & niave and believed that to be the cause of my psych. probs.

I believe in demonic possession and I believe that the devil comes against us daily. He wants our soul and will do anything to get it. That being said I believe that God gave the gift of medicine to mankind and we need to use it.

If you think you are having schizo problems you need to be treated for it and take the meds regularly. My sister is schizophrenic and she will not take any meds at all and she has went off the deep end with religion. We are glad that she went that way and not into other bad things but she says she hears the devil talking to her and she goes against him. She has done some really crazy things and I have often wondered if she is possessed.

Hope this helps you. I will talk about it more with you if you want.

Psychosis may accompany BP I. Talk to your doctor!
Regrets are a fool's way of wasting time.

I am not a doctor. Any advice I give is from personal experience and should be neither taken as fact (without references) or something that will work perfectly for you. Everyone is different.

Bipolar NOS
Current Treatments:
Lithium 450 mg
Lamictal 125 mg
A healthy dose of daily laughter

When I have been manic or mixed manic I have heard voices. I've heard some people with severe depression can also hallucinate. When I'm stable the only auditory hallucinations I've had were musical hallucinations, and those were seizure based. If you are truly stable, then I doubt you would have auditory hallucinations with bipolar disorder unless it was something like seizure based. I'd talk to your doctor about your mood and see if it could be schizoaffective or schizophrenia or other (if you're currently stable).

its weird that you mention voices. I dont know if this counts but I have often heard sounds that sound like voices that are far away and I cannot make out whats being said. I dont know if i am "hearing voices" or if its just ambient noice but its something ive wondered about.
I can be your friend, I can be your confidant, we could be like blood in closeness. But i CANNOT be you. you must make your own decisions. some will be good, some will be bad. but I will never leave until you push me away.

yeah, I also have other auditory hallucinations. They ask me about it every time I go to the doctor. I have a hard time figuring out what is a real hallucination and what's me thinking I hear one though because my hearing is going... so if ya hear stuff, it sucks but you aren't alone.

as for the preternatural stuff, send me a PM if you want to talk about that, I don't want to discuss that stuff in public.

I am bipolar 1 n hear voices, i have 4 voices in my head, 3 of them stay in the background n just talk amongst themselves as if its 3 ppl having a conversation beside u whereas the other 1 is like the chief voice he constantly has a go at me and sometimes orders me to do some outrageous stuff. I was also worried about having schizophrenia because one of my best friends who is schizophrenic has pretty much the same thing but my psychiatrist reassures me its psychosis related to my bipolar. Also, many of the drugs used to treat bipolar are also used to treat schizophrenia.
I am Bob, im 23. Please come and check out the bipolar and pregnancy group even if u arent pregnant u may enjoy the comedy section, or if u have previously been pregnant n bipolar u could offer some well needed advice to those of us who r currently going through this life transition.

Here's my thoughts again, i'm not psychotic, i've been there & it's like being in a reality of your own creation.

but i'm hearing repeated swearing so; maybe if i didn't smoke pot- the symptom would vanish!

or maybe it's satans emissary's putting thoughts in my head.

who knows but i've got little to lose by trying to quit weed.

and much to gain if i could restore my faith & spirituality...

please forgive the lack of capitals i'm a bit lazy

Ya I admit I have the demonic delusions - usually when highly stressed/anxious or in mixed state. But there is a logical side of me that can control the sensations.

I do not believe in the devil, I think that's a pile of sh*t. Religion has caused way more harm in history than any imaginary demons. (Uh oh, I just offended people, I know, sorry sorry.). I was just saying that because I think its dangerous not to realize that these dark realities exist in our heads, not in the real world around us. If you don't believe in evil, then it can't hurt you or take over your waking life, yep?

I believe in life, and in love and compassion, empathy. Action with the desire to change things for the better. I don't believe dark dreams. Yep they haunt me occasionally, but I can control them with rationality and the love of life and for others, that I have within me!

I know its hard sometimes, but strength! we all have so much strength within us, I think! We special people, and mental illness can be a curse, but I can also appreciate parts of it that have made me the determined person I am! Smile

Bipolar 1, BPD, anxiety

150mg Zoloft(setraline), 1000mg Epilim(sodium valproate), 15mg Serepax (oxazepam, as needed)

thankyou, aravis that was very positive & thoughtful.

no, i'm not one of those offended, i beleive people are entitled to their beleifs, & mine could be wrong!

i felt much of my spirtual experiences were real & thus they reinforced my beliefs in a creator & some weird ongoing war between good & evil being waged in the spiritual realm as well as here....

sorry, iknow i sound crazy, possibly thats coz i am
