I wouldn't trade either. My bp disorder is treatable with meds. All in all, it could definitely be worse.
My opinions are just opinions, and should be taken as such. I am not an expert on medicines or BP disorder.

NEVER!! I think bipolar has helped me become the person I am today! Bipolar doesn't make me who I am but it us a factor in who Iv'e become. While I might not like most of my symptoms, there are some that really are amazing! I've never been big on drugs or alcohol, but when hypomania begins... In my book, nothing compares to that! Though I am working really hard to get stable, and I'm giving up on that natural high, I have to say I'm glad to have been able to experience it! I don't think I'd trade it to be "normal" either since it's giving me so many perspectives on things and taught me to keep my mind open to higher possibilities! Not to mention the fact that I'm a stronger person for surviving what I have! Experience is something that builds character and makes us unique! I have been to the edge and back! I have imagined or created things a normal brain could not fathom, and now I can take a curse and make it a blessing! It isn't all peaches and cream, life never is regardless of circumstances, but it is a part of me and it is possible to stabilize it and learn from it!
Purely my personal opinion, I'm not any kind of physician.

If it was terminal, I would trade in a heartbeat. This disease has given me so much heartache. I have lost so much because of it. I just want it all to go away. I'm tired of the meds. I'm tired of the therapy. I'm just tired. Yes, when I'm feeling hypomanic, it's great. I'm in the clouds and I'm creative and life is grand. But my disease expresses itself in aggression when I go balls to the wall. Aggression towards myself and worse aggression towards others. It's a no win. So yeah, cancer, lymphoma, I'd trade. But if it's another maintenance disease, they can keep it. I'm done maintaining.

I am thankful to be of sound mind and body...I wouldn't swap myself for anyone - I like me. Boy the meds must be working today! ha ha...seriously, NO trading of any body parts.
