It is getting hot as hell in NJ and I just got back from Costa Rica's jungle, which was hot and humid as hell. I take Inderal with Lithium (and other meds) and that is supposed to control the hand tremors but my hands, fingers and arms are moving on their own despite. I wonder how it would be without the Inderal? I'm also getting stomach distress of two kinds and am a bit more forgetful/distracted. I'm trying to drink a reasonable amount of water, but it is still not enough. Is anyone else on Lithium (or had been) experiencing this with the recent heat? I have an appointment with my pdoc on Wednesday and will mention this. Not sure if he will order a Lithium level. In the meantime I'll exercise inside and drink as much H20 as possible. Keep cool everybody!

Lithium ER (900 mg)*Tegretol XR (1400 mg)*Lamictal (100 mg)*Geodon (160 mg)*Navane (5 mg)*Seroquel XR (100 mg)*Klonopin (.5 mg)

Ativan 1 mg "as needed" (I rarely take it.)*Seroquel regular 50 mg "as needed" (Only if I'm getting elevated.)

My mix is side effect friendly for me.

Hi, Cthebird. I don't know anything about lithium or inderal, but I do live in NJ. It is hot here, isn't it? I notice I'm suffering more from the heat too and I was wondering if it might be because of my meds. Hmmm.
My opinions are just opinions, and should be taken as such. I am not an expert on medicines or BP disorder.

Hey Cthebird I just got off of Lithium and it does seem to cause a sensitivity to sun and overheating also can occur! I also was super thirtsy all the time. In addition I also retained more fluid than normal. So my feet would swell and I peed a lot! The warning labels says to avoid overheating so in really hot weather you would want to take extra precautions!

One more thing I noticed with the Lithium...the higher my dose the more nausea I experienced! When my doc upped my dose to 1800mg I had so much nausea I threw up more medicine than I kept down! At that point my doc took me off of it completely!

Haha I was just in Costa Rica, chasing down bottled water like an addict chasing a fix! I have been told that lithium decreases your ability to sweat, so I'd assume that tocins would build up, but no one talks about this! You drink a tremendous amount of water but pee it out just as fast, and if you're not careful you can wet the bed! Oh Lithium is so much fun, it disrupts practically every process in the human body. It makes me so adorable!
