I went to my pdoc last week she uped my serequel again and did not renew my paxil. I told her I needed something for when I rage I was thinking something like xanix or klonapin for when I am really struggeling. She upped my serequel to 300mg at night and said if I was having a what I would call episode that I could take 50mg of serequel she said that is my mood stablelizer well I have gotten worse. I feel sick I have this weird sensation of well it feels like an electrical short circuit. I did not want to go through the holidays like this what do I do?

It takes time for the meds to even things out. Give it a few more days, if not call your pdoc and maybe he can straighten it out.

Trazadon 100mg
Klonapin 1mg

Unfortunately, the electrical short circuit sensations that you are describing is a textbook SSRI discontinuation syndrome symptom. If your doctor took you off of Paxil cold turkey, I strongly suggest you find another physician who knows what he/she is doing. Paxil is a drug that needs to be tapered off of slowly. You will be OK, but the withdrawal can make you feel horrible. You really should call your current physician at the very least and describe the symptoms.

Please take care of yourself, and be well.

I feel better just that you could relate to my short circut issue thought I was crazy I was on 20 mg of paxil maybe the pdoc overlooked not dropping the dose more. I go to a therapist also. My family phisician said I had to go to a physciatrist for my meds. so I only see the physciatrist for about a 30 sec med appointment. Wish they could all get together lol. Just trying to stay above water here.

I love my Seroquel. IT really helps me to sleep.
My best day is worse than the worst day you have ever imagined.

Hi, I'm also on Serequel (for 4 yrs) it gave me a headache for about 4-5 days if the dose changed or missed it for a few days. But I got off paxil 40mg & I went through major withdrawls for 2-3 wks. I was dizzy, nausiated, had the shakes, night sweats & hot/cold flashes. Good news! It dose pass if you can hang in there. I felt so much better on the serequel than I did on paxil but it was not an easy transistion. I also have a rage/anxiety issue & honestly the sereqeul helped but I needed somthing during the day & the best for me was klonapin. Good luck & I hope you feel better soon!

My doctor also would not prescribe me a benzo and told me to take a small dose of seroquel when i felt like i have having an episode. but its almost impossible for me to take seroquel during the day and function. also, i take it at night and do not so much feel the lingering effects of my night dose during the day. Paxil made me crazy. When i was younger, and kept being diagnosed as major depressive, they had me up to 50mg of paxil. i do not think its a good drug for bp at all, but of course thats my opinion, and it probably works for some people. The only thing i can tell you is i had my mood stabilizer (lamictal) doubled and i'm not longer having the episodes and needing a benzo. I would research stress and breathing exercises and yoga and all that stuff, to help to teach your body how to deal with the anxiety on its own. Good luck!
