MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

arrrggg! i have called everyday and left messages-as far as i know-nothing has been done with them contacting my insurance to file the formulary exception on the med. very frustrating. need some relief. have tweeked my meds some as my med nurse told me i could. it has helped. i really love my med nurse but getting through to nurses/doctors on the phone is very hard and they do not even have time to call me back and give me a message. very frustrating. when she has told me to call if i need to-she makes it seem like it is so easy. i don't know. guess i have to wait and be patients-which is very hard for me.

It must be frusterating just to wait around, at least to get a phone call you know what is happening, don't hesitate to call them, it may save you a lot of grief. I'm sorry you are going thru all this, i hope things will get resolved quickly for you.

Are you communicating your need clearly? As in: "The lack of attention to my medication is causing me severe distress. When can I definitely expect attention? Yes? OK, and who am I talking to? OK, I am glad you are committing to help me because I have been waiting ## days and I was promised rapid assistance. This is my ## call."

they finally called-and say they r working on it and have been. it is gonna take some time as my insurance won't cover it-they are trying to get me on some low income assistance prog. so i can get the med. these insurance co.'s-are ridiculous-not to approve a med that i really need.

I'm glad to hear they called you back, this is terrible waiting to hear if a med is approved, and you say this is a med you really need, i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

jewl, I am so sorry that it turned out the insurance company didn't approve the med you need. It's good that your doctor's office is trying to get you on a low income assistance program so you can afford the med. I hope that they can get you on the program. I'm in similar situations with some of my meds and it's unbelievably frustrating.
Bipolar II, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Attacks, Agoraphobia & PTSD; Alcoholic in recovery since 3/21/07.

Julie, I'm glad someone got back to you. The insurance companies suck! That's not right that they prevent you from getting something you need. I hope they can get you on a program of some sort. We are all cheering for you. Hang in there.

I feel your frustration, I have dealt many times with waiting for the ins co to approve or not unless you take this med first.. argh. I am also frustrated with my care team, please call if you are struggling or stopping meds, only to receive phone numbers for in and out patient care after waiting several days for a call back.
