600mglithium
80mg geodon
3mg klonipin
If it were called Cancer, then you would be my friend. If it were called the flu then you would help me get better. But since its bipolar I stand alone.

Lamictal is an usual medication. It is classified as a mood stabilizer, like lithium and Depakote, but it also has antidepressant effects for many people.

Lamictal is an anti-convulsant well-known for it's mood stabilizing properties. It also tends to "lift" depression for many people.

I'm on Lamical but I still take an anti-depresant. So honestly I'm not sure.

I also take Lamictal and it is supposed to be good for depression. However, i am also on prozac. I just recently switched from Abilify to Lamictal, my doctor just took me up to 250mgs a day. I was still having some depression and anxiety.

I hope Lamictal works well for you and many people here at MDJ take Lamictal and it does well for them.

I also take Lamictal. I think it works well for depression. I do however take Lexapro and Seroquel XR which I believe can be used for depression. Take Care

Hello i do not know,

I have been on lamictal for 5 years. I found it helpful. I take that and Risperdal. I have had to increase it over the years but I think I finally found the right dosage. I feel more optimistic about the future and have begun to enjoy small things once again, like sumlight filling up a room. I feel less distrcated. Everyone is different Good Luck - Dosey Doe

Lamictal is the only thing that I take for bipolar depression. It's worked great so far.

I've been on Lamictal for two years. My doctor tried weaning me off it and I became depressed again. I am now back on it and feeling much better, so yes, in my case it worked great for depression. It's a great medication.

I find Lamictal great for depression. One night I called the ER (I was almost suicidal)they told me to take extra Lamical, not anti-depression. By the next day I was feeling better. It was originally on label as an anti-convulsant. Then it was found that it had excellent mood-stablising properties and was used for BP. As a mood atabiliser, it works on depression and hypomania, but extra well for depression.

Many people are on an anti-dep as well if the depression is bad. I have treatment resistant depression so am on Lamictal, an anti-dep and Lithium to combat it.

Long story short, I definitely recommend Lamictal as a first line treatment for BP and specifically depression. I wish you all the best Smile
