I'll start off and say to the people who have negative input to this subject - Please save yourself the heart ache and don't participate in this conversation. : )

I'm currently treating myself with Cannabis. I'm looking for other Mental Midgets who use Cannabis to relieve symptoms.

Really interested in strains others use which help them?

Also looking for different methods of consumption others are using?

I've been trying a number of different strains lately - They are ALL good and it's really amazing who each do different things.

Lately I've been sampling all different kinds - Lots of Kush's.

Purple Kush (Indica) so far is the most effect kush I've found to help with Clearing thoughts, reducing anxiety, pretty much allows me to forget I'm even sick XD now that's the best feeling in the world - this was great for daytime and night - just straight up overall good feeling which goes along why in what you set out to do.

Pink Kush (Indica) was some strong stuff - total mind shutdown - Little too powerful for daytime - def good for bed - Can see it would be good for people who suffer from PAIN.

Headband (Indica) was another great mind shutdown - This is a strain that will stop a racing horse in it's tracks. My wife now looks at me and says 'headband' if I'm a little slow on my responses XD

Jack Herer (Sativa) is the best strain I've come accross and know the name at least XD I've been getting it from different places and all have had the same effect - Again like Purple Kush - just an overall great feeling - Like I can say I'm normal. Couple of my head case buddies like Jack as well. Def good for reducing anxiety.

Other strains I've had in the past that I liked, White Widow, Lemon Kush, Cal Orange Kush, Lemon Haze

These are the strains so far in my search that help me. I've stayed to the Indica side of things so far. Gonna start looking into some sativas to try and energize my day. Some Chem Dogg, Skunk, And Any Diesel I can get my hands on XD

I've Dabbled a bit with tinctures and Cookies and such - Nothing serious just here and there - This is something I'm gonna start doing as well. Also have an Iolite vaporizor that I sample here and there. Still smoking gives greatest relief

Hope all is well

I am editing my post because I don't want to cause any arguments. Let me just say, I strongly disagree.

I'm an Advocate

I have edited this first sentence due to the above poster editing their comments.

I used weed during my teen yrs and truly believe it stunted my emotional growth, i had a psychotic episode landed me in the hospital for 9 wks this happened once was told not to smoke weed or do any more street drugs, i was 18, after i only did use once in a blue moon, rarely, I was mentally addicted to it, i depended on the 'high' it was self-medicating me i could not face life without it, imagine a teenager addicted to this substance this was all so too bad. There are studies done that weed can bring on psychosis in some people.

There are others here in fact who have posted that this substance helps with their anxiety and bp symptoms, idk i believe its a personal choice whether or not someone uses it, i know its not good for me, and also feel its not good for most people and i have my reasons for saying that one is that it is used to self-medicate to numb out for some anyway, but i do believe in medicinal canibus, for me that's totally different. To use canibus over psychiatric medications.

To only use cannibus and not taking bp psychiatric meds you are risking your mental healtih and those who have to live and deal with you have a lot of heardache to live with, if you are bp you will most likely still have symptoms, weed does not treat your bp.

I do not advise anyone to deter people away from taking their bp meds and advising them to use 'weed' instead, this is very dangerous and if 'weed' was the answer, all pdocs would be prescribing it and they aren't are they. This is all my personal opinion.

i used it when i was younger before being diagnosed- I like it when i started smokin it-then it changed-wicked paranoia. It was so scarey-everyone else seemed to love it-i was like what the hell is wrong with me. I had not smoked it in 17yrs-tried it on meds a couple yrs ago-I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I got wicked paranoid again and did weird things. Never again. I think the people who live below me in my apt-deal it-i can smell it sometimes-people are in and out alot. sometimes it smells good-but no way ever again will i put myself through that. I do not think it is wise to recomend this (using weed) to people-especially people with bipolar.

This doesn’t need to be an argument. It’s only an argument because of prohibition. This plant has been growing on this planet since the dawn of time. Societies and Animals have been using it as food, medicine, fabric, burning oils, etc until it was deemed Dangers and named it “Marijuana’ - The silliest thing to me they ever said about ‘Marijuana’ back in the day when they started this – was that it made white women have lust for African American Men? These are the people who set the laws and started all this. Don’t think I’d be following these dudes today? How about U? Is this the way we still think?

The Plant is called Cannabis – It is Medicine greater than any Rx on the market – The Phar company’s know this and are trying to copy it – have been for over 80 years - They can’t! Not to the effects of the actual plant. There are 60 – 400 different Cannabinoids in the Cannabis plant and all are therapeutic. There is nothing TOXIC about this plant even when smoking. Noone in the history of man has died from using cannabis – You cannot OD from Cannabis

We are bipolar – We are crazy – We are paranoid – This is who we are. Nothing is going to change this so they say. So we have to rely on medicine. Cannabis doesn’t make us paranoid. It’s us. Cannabis just allows us to see into ourselves. What I am now doing with cannabis is no different then what you are doing with your cocktails. I just choose a natural herb. And like any medicine it needs to be in your system - not smoke one time - with a cocktail - what would you expect?

Dr. In most part have no idea about cannabis unless they research it for themselves. They go along with reefer madness and warn of dangers. They give us meds that the Phar company’s tell them to treat? Who’s telling who what to do? My new shrink told me Cannabis was a street drug – It’s a garden drug XD they force us to the streets

Been down Rx road because Dr suggested in was in my best interest to. 25+ meds later and they only took my life away – They numb me like no other – At least with cannabis I can think for myself - Rx and cannabis are the same thing! They are no different both are medicine. To each their own on what we want to put into our body. Right?

Oh and the study of Cannabis bringing out Mental illness of people? Don’t we want that? Don’t we want to know as soon as we can so that we can treat these people and teach them coping skills as early as we can? Again it’s not the Cannabis it’s the person. Stop blaming a plant

So as I said I’m looking for people who use cannabis not the people who don’t approve. Do your own research – GOOGLE Bipolar cannabis – Many of us out there -Google cannabis and anything – Look around your room --- we can make everything you see with this plant – No need to drill for oil – no need to burn coal – no need to cut down trees – no need to put poison into our bodies – no more starving people in this world! Cannabis will save this planet not just us!

I am very educated in the subject of Cannabis – This definitely isn’t an argument you want to start – You guys should just go straight to Roy – I don’t want you guys closing my Treads because you are misinformed about this plant – THE TREE of Life given to us by GOD!

Again, I wasn’t looking for your comments but found them...i’m not going to get worked up about this...if you are I please ask you to save yourself the heartache XD

PEACE

Hi thescot. I two have spent most my life smoking to lift my lows and boy does it chill my manic days down, I for years have said that it's a grate help, but the bloody docs keep saying it's the weed that makes me sick. I was sick from a very young age so don't understand that full, just like the docs don't fully understand the weed. But I have not given up as I was smoking an oz very quickly and was not getting anything done and I don't want trouble with my lungs, I have eaten it but the solid has to much crap in and the green is not as good to eat, but using a vaporiser is very good. I miss the smoke very much but I want to say hay doctor it's not the green this time, help me.. And by the way every one the green has not gave me my problems but I am aware that some can't handle it and they go nuts or it brings it out of them but some of us it helps.

What upsets me is that the docs want me to take meeds that have some sick side affects and will make me gain weight and will make me num, The only time I smile is when When I am stoned but I will give the meds a try or do I ?

I to have looked in to some different types ones that are more uplifting and not so Stoney but hay I have given up and you have made my mouth water thinking about it lol.. But joking aside i think it's very good for bipolar people when they need to have an instant chill when things are too bad. Think when your so low it makes you smile within minutes and when your to high it can chill you out within seconds but maybe not every one but how do you know till you try it, just as the doctors keep telling me.

I love my manic days at least I get things done but my family hates me but every one does when I don't smoke.

But I am trying to be clean as can be. If you want a close chat thescot I will be happy to talk if you want to email or Skype for some more info. Many thanks and godbless

I'm always wary of people who proclaim their education on a topic but make ignorant mistakes in their testimonial. For example, that business about the hundreds of cannibinoids being therapeutic is wishful thinking, not fact. We don't know what a lot of those chemicals do to our brains and bodies.

You are free to indulge without my interference. I am not interested in controlling you. But your defensive censoring of what you do and don't want in this thread suggests you are not playing with a strong hand. If you were, you would address the pros and cons honestly, like the fact that you are tripling your chances for developing schizophrenia, an illness that makes bipolar look like a walk in the park. It's still unclear whether having bipolar makes you more susceptible, but it's not a chance I'd take.

Probably the most troubling part of your position is that if you are stoned most of the time, you are not in a good position to learn the tools and techniques you need to recover from bipolar. You are shooting yourself in the foot as far as recovery goes.

You also have the all-too-common drug user affair with the plant, and it's clouding your reasoning. As for study, what have you been studying? Reefer Madness? Just because cannabis was slandered by hysterical prohibitionists back in time doesn't make it alright.

I think your post is interesting and wish you well with your experimentation, reckless and deluded as it is. I am glad you posted, and believe it should be left up. But adding one mental disorder to an existing one is, I regret to say, only going to compound your troubles. Wise up, friend. You are in deep and are heading for a fall that I prefer to avoid.

Oh, yes: I tried it, smoked for a while, got some giggles, then perceived how I was changing and cut it out.

It took me 32 psychiatric drugs to find the few that work for me. It's a shame you gave up, as you were probably getting close at 25.

Best wishes to you.

Each to there own, but cannabis does not make problems, it may trigger them off but it's a very helpful herb to millions for all different resins, why are the medical world using it more and more, but why do we trust theses man made pills over gods own creations, there has always been an answer here on earth but we are all to greedy and sad to see it, it lays not in weed but in the earth and air we breath, I am on my meds from the doctors just to test the options but I have had a new drug at least two times a year for the last 15 years. So maybe my doctors will stop be unhelpful and just give me some weed when they see the drugs don't work lol just joking but if it was on prescription every one would have a different view on the matter I believe that the government just make these street drugs seem worse than they really are just to keep there way of life in tacked, like global warming, 50years from now after the second grate floods you will see the world in a very different light and see what they are playing us like, and no it's not the bipolar or drugs talking I don't smoke pot no more as it's to costly. If you want facts look at the latest deaths on meow they said two boys died from it,then it was front page news, but load and behold two weeks later there was a two liner near the back of the news paper saying that they were wrong the meow did not kill them, but it was to late they rushed it through and made it illegal over night, for no point. It makes me mad when people fall for all there crap with out knowing anything about it, and smoking some weed in school does not count,be open mined not blind to the world that should and could be. I rest my case before I become manic love to you all.
