Today is my first pdoc appt in 2 yrs and I'm going in for a possible med change up. The only other time I have seen a pdoc was when I was hospitalized for seizures and finally diagnosed with bipolar ptsd stress seizures anxiety and panic attacks and that was 2 years ago. I've had minimal med changes since then and with the recent suicidal thoughts my NP got me into a telepsych program an hour away.

I'm nervous about what is going to happen. There is no mental health hospital service up here and I don't think I need that just the med change for my sleep. I know that I've been manic and erratic lately and need to go...I'm just scared of what he might say about me.

I can understand being anxious since you haven't seen a pdoc in a long time. More then likely, since you have been on your meds a couple of years, you just need an adjustment.

Suicidal thoughts are dangerous and you should be seen asap...It is a problem that you don't have a local mental health facility. You already drive an hour for your telepsych, do you know if there is a hospital around there?

I recommend that you call a suicide hotline if suicide is all you think about! You may need a mood stabilizer or a stronger mood stabilizer so you are not allover the place.

I hope everything gets better for you, fast. I bet once you get there you will be able to relax some. They are usually good at putting you at ease. Plus they will listen to your symptoms and add meds as needed.

Good luck and let us know how it goes today. Take care of yourself!

I see why you would be scared, but I think you will be just fine. They will get you fixed up with some medications and help you. You may answer questions and tell your story, but that's probably it. By now, you have probably gone to it. I hope it went well. Please let us know how it went. I hope you fared well. We are here for you.

He took away all of my calming meds for panic and anxiety and is putting me on 900mg of Lithium a day...I think this may be a high dose ti start off with. I'm home feeling like a failure and crying. At least its snowing and I may not have to go over the mountains tomorrow for other Dr appts...I can just stay home in my jammies.
