Hey Magic, have you asked your Doctor about trying you on a different medication? I am not sure where I was reading about it, but I have been reading that the studdering is a side effect of the Effexor, try giving it a couple of weeks or so to get into your system, and see if it keeps up, if so talk to your doctor again.

Telling if someone is in a short time, is possible, but I don't believe that you can tell by a persons looks, I look perfectly normal, and most folks have never been able to tell that I was, even the therapists that I have seen over the years. We are masters of disquise and it generally takes something major to blow our cover..

A lot of folks here on the site will tell you they kinda like the mania's for the feelings of being smart, full of energy, etc.. but it is the down side of that hill that gets them.

Thank you! I know this post was for someone else, but it's nice to know I'm not crazy and so many normal people suffer with this disorder.

Hey Magic, this site is wonderful, people listen and care with out passing judgement on each other.

With the babies being little, you are right you can get them just about anything and they will love it, go to the dollar store or big lots if you have one near, you can get lots of things for very reasonable, I have gotten more excitement out of people over a gift that didn't cost a fortune, because it was bought out of thought for that person, something they would like or needed. Little ones, most of all, like the box it came in rather than the gift that was in it..lol..

the knee sounds like you might have a fluid problem, I knew someone that use to have to have his knee drained because of a fluid build up, it would swell really bad.. or it could be a cartilidge problem, and they can fix that now adays.

Don't worry about your spelling, most folks can read your writing and understand what it is you are saying..and really no one cares if you spell it right or not, we just care that you are willing to share your troubles, hopes and dreams with us.

We've been having rain now for going on two days, and it is suppose to last through the weekend... I can't complain though we need the rain badly. I would not want to see it rain for 40 days straight but I think that is what it would take to clear up the drought that we have been under. North Carolina is talking about fining people who use too much water...

Hugs, and good luck with the shopping, My Mom sent me into Walmart yesterday, lol, I avoid that place like the plague during the holiday season.. if I absolutely have to go in there, I don't go till after 9PM just to avoid all the crowd.. I got lucky, I parked out in the boonies, and managed to get in and out of there in under 30 mins... she "had" to have a gift card..lol..

Don't feel bad about buying yourself stuff, we all need little presents to ourselves every now and then, I give myself little gifts like when I do something that I have been aiming to do, like get a promotion, lose wieght, etc..

Merry Christmas..

Carmen

you cant tell if someone is bipolar just by looking at them. depending on the type of bipolar you have will depend on if someone can tell in a few hrs or days if you have bipolar or not.

A little bit about Effexor: my experience has been a strange desire to be off of it, which is quite difficult to describe. Once off, depression can seep in, but a different anti-depressant is small doses helps. The worst thing about Effexor, it may be true about others, is the withdrawal symptoms, especially when you go cold turkey (don't do it, it's awful!!!) I know for a fact you can go up to 450 mg/day, which is a lot of damned chemical floating around your body.
Run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Stinky Cheese Man!
