 Not sure where to start, I am helping my son with his recent diagnosis. He was abusing drugs and alcohol for a 1 1/2 years, when he decided to clean up (his 2nd time ). After 2 weeks of being sober he went into a manic state. In which he has tried a tone of different meds. He is now on 1000mg depakote, and possibly adderall (which he abused?). I question if these are the right diagnosis and meds. frustated mom.

 well have you gone to see anyone else and get a second opinion? These are tough questions and you deserve some answers. I would keep seeking information and make some inquiries, to test things out, we have many doctors in our area and some are good and some are better and it takes time to learn and investigate, it is a shame it has to be that way, but it is what it is. Frustrating at times. Keep pushing forward.....John
