I have a friend for about 2 years that I am about to tell where she can go. She treats me so horrible. One day she is my best friend and the next she is evil. I am afraid of her. I am a shy type so I put up with all the screaming and insults. She talks down to me like I am stupid all the time and I just take it. I am afraid to ever tell her how she is acting because I think she will blow.

Lately I am getting ready to tell her how she treats me and that I am not going to take it anymore. When she flips back to acting like my best fried I forget about the bad and think it is over. I think I am going to confront her when she is being mean, but would it be better to talk to her when she is being nice. I might hage to wait awhile for that.

Also, does she know she treats me this way and is she laughing behind my back about how stupid I am to put up with her or does she not have a clue?

If she is untreated she very well might not know what she is doing, confronting her is a good idea, but like you said, I believe I would wait till she is in a better mood, doing it now, if she is in one of her mean states would just cause a explosion.. do you know if she has been diagnosed?

Welcome to the group, we are glad to have you here.

She has been diagnosed and told me about it. She is on Lamictal and something else and I believe she thinks the meds work.

She might be in need of a adjustment on her medications, you might suggest that when you talk with her about it, Lamictal is a good medication, it just might not be the one that she needs, sometimes it takes a while for the medication to reach theraputic levels, and sometimes they have to try several different ones before they find the one that is right.

When she starts being mean, you don't have to stay around, you can leave and just tell her you'll be back when she is in a better mood.
