MDJunction to me

jayna01"My name is Jayna and I wanted to take this opportunity to say how much MDJunction has meant to me. I always felt so alone before I joined in April of 2012. I felt like there wasn't anyone that really cared about me and what I was going through. I felt like there was no one that would truly listen to me in what I was feeling. Nobody was there for me. That is before I found MDJ!

I have found and met such good people on these forums. I never ever knew there were such compassionate people before MDJ. It's also nice to know that I can come here anytime and get support for what I am feeling. I feel like I have met some wonderful life long friends. It is also an outlet for me to try and help other people that are hurting. It gives me a good feeling inside and gives me self confidence in helping other people.

I hope MDJ will be as good for you as it has been for me! Many Blessings and Much love.

Hi guys,

Has anyone else got acne as a side effect? And if so, what measures did you take. Is there another drug that will effectively treat depression and or mixed episodes?

What sucks is Lamictal works really well for me.

Thanks!

I never got acne from lamictal while i was taking it, but i remember there was a girl on this forum a long time ago who used to have that problem.

Hopefully, it'll go away. Did you tell your pdoc? Maybe he or she can offer you some advice on how to manage this side effect.

Perhaps you should just make sure to wash your face twice a day and use something with salicylic acid in it.....Maybe lighten up on makeup if you wear it....

I don't think I have gotten acne from Lamictal, but I have always had a problem with acne. I use baking soda on my face to wash before I was with a daily cleanser. It seems to work. I add baking soda to my hand with a little water to make into a paste and rub it in all over my face and then rinse. Follow it with cleanser. You could try that. I would also talk to maybe a dermatologist and see what they say or your psychiatrist. Good luck.

I no longer take lamictal but one of my other meds is breaking me out. I use a daily scrub to clean my skin and basic oxy. It has been working but its still a problem. I know how frustrating this side effect can be.
