Hello BiPolar community,

I had joined about a month and a half ago, then pulled away. My doctor had prescribe Seroquel as I was having chronic anxiety, at times to the point of paranoia. I stopped the med as I was gaining weight. Sure enough, I became irritable, and depressed and anxious. After much reading and personal reflection, I realized that I was indeed BiPolar. I re-started the Seroquel and feel good. My partner has noticed a big turnaround. I will never go off the meds again. I want to become more involved with this group and share experiences. The only medication side effect I am having is a painful crick in my neck on the left side. Has anyone experienced this? Scott

Hi Scott,

Welcome back, I am new myself. I started out on 50 mg of Seroquel and now just two days ago am up to 300 mg. I don't know about you but it knocks me out. I have noticed muscle aches myself, mostly shoulder and neck but am wondering if it is the way I am sleeping. My husband says I am totally out of it and curl up like a big ball. Could it be the same with you?

Take Care,

Lilly

Hi Lilly,

Seroquel is the most amazing sleep med ever! I take it about 9:30pm every night, and about half way through the 10 o'clock Everybody Loves Raymond episode, I am out. I sleep through the night and get up around 7am. I have a bit of a groggy feeling in the morning, but it disappears after my first cup of coffee. It is such a good medicine and is working so well for me. I feel on top of my worries and problems as opposed to being suffocated by them. Do you notice you are dreaming more? That is a very good thing. The crick in my neck is annoying. You are new to the med Lilly, give it a few days and you will feel great. Write anytime, take care, Scott

Hi Scott,

Your right it is the best sleep med ever. Yes I notice I dream more. One day I made mistake and accidently took it instead of my Klonopin at work. Everyone thought I was drunk, I had to leave for the day made it home and crashed!

Take care!

Welcome back, Scott. My doc wanted to try me on Seroquel but with Geodon I had problems sleeping through my alarm clock and started getting in trouble at work, so I didn't think it would be a good idea to try. I've heard it really just iknock you out! I'm glad that you've decided to return, I've found the support here wonderful. Good luck!
