2! - 4! - 6! - 8! WHO DO WE AP - PRE - CI- ATE???

BABYSITTER! BABYSITTER! GOOOOOOOOOOOO BABYSITTER!!!!!!!!

You need a break ... Do you ever go anywhere without them?? If you don't feel comfortable leaving them in someone else's care, go to the opposite end of the house and try to escape... Read a book, work on a hobby... anything! (as long as it doesnt involve rugrats or housework)

Or you could always let Calgon take you away. (before the men in white coats do! )

i feel a bit out of place, not being a mom with a teenage or older.but maybe i can add something that may be relevant.

first, when i was excruciatingly shy, outcast at school blah blah. my parents in their dysfunctional tried to push me into activities at the school and outside. but i liked things i did by myself and hockey, i could play for hours. oddly enough my parents kind of foisted me off on the coach and other parents (still trying to figure that out). i'm still a solitary.

second, i believe kids need to make choices but stick by it, i.e., we'll help you do what you want you but you carry it out. if after you don't wnat to go on, so be it. still, we get invitations, things from school that they have forgotten for the next day. kids i guess.

sorry if this posting is a little off topic, terry

i want you to be crazy
because you're boring baby when you're sane

HAHA Kimmie!!Must have been why I totally understood that comment LMAO. It's not off at all. I don't push her to do anything at all. That's the thing. I had been trying to talk her out of it in nice way?I would never push her to do anything she wouldn't want to do, this is all her. The time she wanted to quit softball, we talked to make sure it was what she wanted to do..And we let her quit?People, bitched at us & couldn't believe we just let her quit, but I was like we couldn't just MAKE her play?

We do have update to report! We went shopping yesterday, bought skirts. She went thru the bags & was actually excited. She wore one yesterday, which was a huge improvement. I had her wear one a few months ago and it totally ruined her whole day and she was hateful the entire day? She wore the skirt willingly yesterday? Now the true test is if she wears it to school?I told her a part of a cheerleaders uniform is a skirt. If she can't wear a skirt to school, then? She has been really shy. I just want to be sure before forking out all that money that it's right for her you no?I don't want to deny the kids anything they WANT to do?

Anyway, my mood is better. I cried yesterday a little, realizing I'm getting older & my kids are growing up. It just hit me for some reason that my son will be 13 next year & I started flipping out???LMAO. I was crying because I was worried about him going to a skate park with his friends, he had never been before. My husband said, dang, it's not like he's going off to college, he's just spending the day with his friends? Then I started crying more..I said YEAH, I will probably cry for a whole year when he goes to college? He was at the skate park for 15 minutes before he crashed and cracked his head, not serious, but it was bleeding?Didn't need stitches but?

Glad to hear that you are feeling better today.
Whether a glass if half full or half empty depends on the attitude of the person looking at it.

Momof2 - I think you're doing a great job with all of this. I remember that age with my two daughters - the hormones are a killer, that's the most important thing to remember! We let both our daughters test and eventually drop out of quite a few sports. The only success? Horses. You and the horse....ALONE. My girls freaked out about the responsibility of being a member of a team and couldn't handle it - they just weren't ready. They're in their mid-20s now and they are handling being a part of a team at their jobs quite well. And wow do I understand those feelings you get when they are getting older and growing away from you.......You're doing great - hang in there!
Let me introduce myself. I'm Linda....aka Zoe.

Things that make me happy -

Thank you guys so much!I am glad you guys are here! I'm sure some people may come across & say, 'wow, why is she freaking out about this on here' HAHA..I don't have a mother to go to, to talk to about this kinda stuff, to get advice from..She didn't take care of my going thru these certain years. So, if I called her to tell her what was even going on.. She wouldn't even no what to tell me, and then she would get all depressed?

Zoe-Thank you!I forget hormones..I think of her to small to have hormones, I forget sometimes!!Thanks for the reminder!!

I appreciate you all being here!I think I'm going to go to the book store..Do some reading on pre-teens. Girls seem to be much worse than boys (for me that is )

Thank you!
