June 3 I will be having my 12th ECT. The benefits are far out weighing the problems I have had which are really nothing at all. I did however have a small return of depression for a few days that was ugly and discouraging but with the last dose of ECT it disappeared as fast as it came. My memory isn't bothered by ECT at all. I am still as forgetful as I have always been. I am so very thankful that I decided to follow through with this form of treatment and that my husband has been supportive. Had I not I think by now I would have killed myself for sure. A year of severe depression and looking at another year of it was not something I was willing to live with. It is funny, people have been commenting on how I look. I haven't done anything different to myself but put a smile on. I have lost a lot of weight. No more emotional eating for me. I linger to talk to people rather then run and hide from them. I have even caught myself giggling. I am not "holding my breath" because I know things can change but I have to say these past few months have been very refreshing and I hope they last. I am one of the people that can say that ECT changed my life for the better.

I agree Pink. The best thing I ever did. It took me awhile to get on a good med combo, but I am stable and doing good. I only needed 6.
