I know we all struggle with intrusive words and thoughts

here, but do any of you ever have intrusive visions?

I'm having a really difficult period this month; even

more bleeding, swelling and cramps than usual. All day

I've been seeing myself cutting my breasts off with a

chainsaw in a really graphic way. Other times I have

seen myself hitting or tripping strangers as I pass

them in the hall. My therapist said that these things

are a manifestation of my anger at myself and if I

work on analyzing why I feel this rage, over time it

would go away. I have had these visions many times

since my breakdown almost 5 years ago; they come and

go periodically, but they always return...no matter

how much analyzing and praying I do.

I know, for example, that I am very conflicted and

angry about sex...we've been through it many times

in therapy and I always shut down. That's another

story...I guess.

I'm not sure I know what else to say now...thanks for listening.

Wow that happens to you?

I met a guy who I didn't know was Bipolar for 4 months. I am trying to understand since I had zero clue.

You know for even people without Bipolar we all have fears and depressions. I left my husband of 22 yrs who mentally abussed me. I met this woderful guy who is Bipo;ar and I blew it. I freaked out! I miss him!

I've begun to have these as well since my breakdown in September. I've had frequent awake-dreams of being positioned at some precarious, high place like a waterfall or a tall staircase and falling off. It's not so much the visions that disturb me as the intense physical reactions to them. I actually break out in cold sweats, my heart starts pounding, and its hard to breathe.

I think its just a part of the psychotic elements of bipolar disorder that whatever we are feeling manifests itself in these visions.

I am feeling shamed since I posted this-maybe it's too hot a topic even

for here...

Anthroguy, thank you for your thoughts. I feel somewhat better knowing I

am not alone in this and there is an explanation.
