My brother once described my dad as a control freak, is this a bipolar trait?

I don't know if it is a bipolar trait but it is a me trait. I have to know the details of eveything. My dad regualarly comes over every Saturday to visit wit the kids but still I have to call on Wednesday to make sure and then again on Friday to find out what time and what the plans are. And then again Saturday morning to confirm. This is just a small example. THere are times that I am able to relinquish that control but boy is it hard. I am still trying to be apart of it. Maybe we can get some more responses and see if it is a Bipolar trait or just individual.

Be blessed.

BE BLESSED!

I feel like I am the one who has to be the control freak.

My husband has done so many reckless things that I try to

keep on top of everything.

He is a control freak about things I find insignificant like

organizing his collections of comics & collector cards etc., but if

I ask him to help me organize a household project, or sit and pay the bills with me, he has no desire to know what is going on.

So, I would say we are both control freaks but our priorities are

totally askew.

Can't say for me if it is a bipolar trait or not, I've always had to be the one responsible and in charge, from the time I was young, till now, and when I married a man 11 years older than I am I felt that maybe I could drop some of that, and let him be in charge for a while...NOPE, that didn't work. Mine kinda sounds like Laur's...if its something he wants to do, like mess with his motorcycle, then he is all over it, but when it comes to doing something that has to do with the house, forget it..

I still have to be the one supporting us, the one doing everything here at the house, and now with the move, I blew my top last night, cause I am the one packing, moving and unpacking. Thankfully I have the new place almost set up, most of the stuff at the old house packed and transferred over here, this weekend will be the last load from the house and then Glenn my hubby is on his own for getting the shed done, I've told him flat out I would not do it, if left up to me, his collection of auto tools and stuff would either be trashed or left for the guy that owns the place, lol.

I've seen other bps who had to feel secure so they became control freaks.

I wonder if he's forgetful and has to keep reminding himself and calling to be sure it's arranged in case he just 'thinks' he's already made the plans?

Don't know....
