My name is Amelia, I'm almost 19 years old and was diagnosed when I was 14. I've been very lonely lately, having trouble with the fact that no one understands what I go through on a daily basis, and it proves difficult to make friends. Besides my boyfriend and my family, I have no one. My doc calls me his little guinea pig - I've tried so many medications I've lost count. I guess I just want to connect...with anyone. Even if it over the cyber world. I was also anorexic for three years and have slight OCD and social phobia (which is getting better). So hi Wassat

Hi Amelia and welcome. I was 18 close to your age when i first got ill. Everyone used to tell me "you have a whole life ahead of you" and at that time i could not see any hope. Well i must say i've accomplished a lot many yrs later so these people were right.

You will connect with several caring people while coming online here and even make friends. Feel free to post wherever you wish and even start new discussions; you can private message (pm) me or any group leader if you wish.

You are so not alone. I am 39 but your story sounds like my own. I struggle with my lack of friends as well. I feel like people that meet me either love me or hate me. Those who hate me always hate me and those who love me, learn to hate me.

Sounds depressing but it is how I feel. I suppose this isn't very encouraging but it is my expierence...maybe you will be luckier. I have known some BPer who fair better, but damn if I know how.

Oh! I thought I'd get an email or something when people replied... I was so sad 'cause I didn't think anyone had haha. Well thank you everyone - Tom, I totally know what you mean. Those who love you can very well learn to hate you Sad

I only have 1 friend and my husband and daughter that I interact with on a daily basis. I get very lonely as well. When I feel that way, I go through the pix on my computer that I have taken of my kids and grandkids. It always makes me smile.

Hi Amelia!

Welcome, glad you're here! I too get lonely bc I don't really have any close friends. It's okay, you will develop many friendships right here. This place was a life preserver for me when I was literally drowning a few months ago. We're here for you and you're not alone!!
