MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

Hey guys,

My doctor recently put me on topamax to reduce some weight I gained while on depakote and seroquel xr. However, the combination was to heavy so my doctor requested some changes in my meds and to stop topamax altogether. However, I have terrible side effects when going to bed at night recently. I have a hard time breathing, my heart skips beats and it literally feels like I'm going to die.

Even though I stopped the topamax, and continued with 1000mg of Depakote and 500mg Seroquel xr at night, I'm still experiencing these side effects and its pretty scary. I'm wondering if I should stop the medications. Has anyone experienced these side effects and what precautionary measures did you all take. I appreciate the advice. Thanks!

PS- How did you guys post up your profile pic. I'm having a hard time doing it even though I click on the 'profile' icon and download a pic through 'photo's.'

I take topomax without any problems but I am not on depakote or seroquel. I would call your pdoc immediately.

Now that you mention it, perhaps. But, I don't understand why so frequently. I hate this..it could be 100 and 1 different factors.

There are a size for the picture you want to put up. Go to your profile. Have you called your Doctor with this problem? My personal oponion is to see yours as soon as possible. That would be a scary feeling for me.

I used to be scared of falling asleep because I couldn't control my dreams and my dreams were not good. I had to watch little kids' movies prior to sleeping to make my thoughts positive prior to sleeping. I still have problems sleeping with the same symptoms, but not as frequent with the kid movies. It's a strange thing to be afraid of falling asleep. Then being afraid of having another attack brings on an attack. Sometimes I wish we didn't need sleep.
