I have bp and was reasonably stable and managing to work part-time. In the last 2 years my 2 boys have both been diagnosed with Asperger's, one has a scoliosis, and one has a severe speech disorder. All we have done is assessment and treatment appointments, spent lots of money and all the worry has destabilised my bp which has reached a crisis recently. My immunity has decreased so I get every bug that comes along, and can't get rid if it. Work do not know about my bp and I want to keep it this way. Maily I worry about the socially as AS kids can't socialise normally and don't usually have friends.

Are there other mums who juggle bp and kids disabilities? I have been unable to find a local group that I can meet with. Everyone says take care of yourself but this can only happen after everybit of paper and therapy and appointment has been don.

Thanks, Laurie. It is all the effort taken to manage the kids issues that puts stress on the bp. I am nearing a deadline for a funding submission so my youngest can have an aide for some of the week - there are so many assessments to do and things go wrong at the last minute. The deadline is non-negotiable, and even then we are not sure of being successful. We are starting a search for the most supportive secondary school now
