I would love to hear from those who are bp, know or care for somone with bp who stopped taking their meds during mania. Many know Im experincing this with someone I care about and I would like to hear stories of the end results of what seems to be dangerous. Right now Im trying to save myself, but i find the knowledge Im learning here to be eye opening. Thanks for anyone who take the time to share their experiences! God bless

My bp husband secretly went off his meds during a manic phase back in Feb. Soon after, he got fired from his job, started an online love affair, ignored the advice of his pdoc to go on stronger meds, announced to me that he was leaving our marriage to pursue that online affair, abandoned me and our pets, gave away or threw away all of his possessions, drove to Canada to be with his new online lover, decided not to have the colonoscopy his doc said he needs to have to keep from getting colon cancer, and went on a credit card-fueled spending spree. We are now in the process of legal separation, and I'm grieving the loss of my marriage, my future and the man I loved.

Does that answer your question?

Thanks -- it is getting better for me, because at least I have peace and quiet now! But I don't think my stbx will ever be able to have a healthy, loving relationship if he doesn't get his BP under control. Sadly, he is in total denial about it, and blames all of his problems on other people.
