I am willing to get out there and dig ditches beside him, if he truly isn't capable of working, then I will work and take care of us.

Right on, Sista!!! Me too!

Hey Carmen, Gotta love ya! It's funny I like drills and screwdrivers much better than flowers any day. Besides if he brought flowers home I'd have to ask him whats her name!lol

When I got divorced a million years ago, I was in a singles support group at a local church. I made about 4 really good female buddies and we all had the same goal...be independent without womeone of the opposite sex around. Sooooooooooooo, we traded off (and it wasn't sex damnit) we decided to help each other "adjust" to single life after being married so long. I taught them how to check oil and maintain their cars and took them to Walmart and helped them buy lawn mowers and yard equipment and how to take care of them. In return, they took me to Sears and helped me buy a sewing machine and I commenced to learning to take care of myself. Before long, they didn't need a man around and I didn't need a woman around because I could cook, clean, sew, do laundry (turned it all pink once) and just about any other domesticated thing. Heck, my therapist showed me how to iron a shirt...what a woman.

Anyway, then women had a hard time with me because I'd get asked with all the stuff I can do for myself why did I need a woman around. If I had to explain it they didn't get it because most had their identity and value as women tied up in what they do and not who they are. They just didn't get it that I'm not interested in what someone can do for me, I'm more interested in what they mean to me. I said it before, I don't think men and women are really all that different. If you burn away all the roles and men developed more of their feminine traits and women developed more of their male traits then what you're left with in needing someone else all boils down to intimacy and love...that's all that's left to need someone for if you can take care of yourself.

I've had several good girl friends that went the same route and they frustrated the hell out of men because they weren't looking for some guy to take care of them, help raise their children or be a meal ticket. We all need to be needed, but we should be needed for the right reasons. My .02...again.

Well, I think my female side has emerged enough...I'm gonna go clean a shotgun or watch Walker, Texas Ranger and take some DHEA to get my testosterone levels back up before I start menstruating...I wonder if they make a combination maxi pad and jock strap LOL.

He who laughs last thinks slowest.

I'm already visualizing the duct tape over your mouth!

Very funny Scotty; now beam down my clothes.

Here lies,
All cold and hard,
The last damn dog,
That pooped in my yard!

lol, Don't know if they make one, but the new maxi pads will stick to just about anything.. Lobo, you sound like you are going to make some woman a great catch, they don't know what they are missing if they don't go for you..

I use to sit in a bar back in my wild child days, and watch all these men go for the bimbo's.. and then they would sit and complain to me over their broken hearts and how they could not even get a date out of some of them, would ask the guy what his qualifications were on a woman, he'd read off this list, and I would in my head start checking off all the traits that he would be asking for that I had.. had everyone of them plus more to offer, like brains.

Yet for some reason, I'd be there drinking and they would be chasing the double DD's.. maybe it was the fact all I had was C's.????

No, Carmen it was the fact that you had a brain and most of those guys could not hold an intelligent conversation if their life depended on it....LOL

Yeah, when I used to go to bars some girls would want to buy me a drink. I'd just tell 'em no thanks, but I'll take the $5 .

BTW, what does guys in bars looking at bimbos have to do with what grades you made in high school???

There are two kinds of guys in the world when it comes to boobs; those that like 'em because of how they feel to them and those that like 'em for how they feel to her. With the second one it doesn't matter if she made A's or D's in school LOL.

lol, Norma you are more than likely right about the brains, lol, lobo, bra size doesn't have anything to do with grades, just a observation of some of the male species, I've seen women at work that make me embarrass to admit I belong to the same species..

Lobo...I have been to bars too, and I guess it was never my thing. It is hard to meet interesting people. I like to sit in a bar and watch. LOL The bar scene is kind of sad.

Lonely people trying to connect. Been there for a while after my divorce a few times, I even went into a bar by myself once. I always went with groups. My friends play in a band and I would go to see them play.
