MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

Hey everyone, We just found out that my husband is bipolar. So we are still getting used to it. He is going to start medicine in a couple weeks. We have only been married 2 years so far.

Welcome to the group. Being diagnosed is just the first step on a long road....but a road worth traveling. If you can pick up the book "Loving someone with bipolar disorder" and work thru it together if hes willing. Its a great book and will help you tremendously. Even if you just read it alone (which is what I did) Share your laughter and tears with us its what we are here for!

Piglet,

Piglet was one of my favorite Pooh characters, so you made me smile.

1. Welcome to the group. I love the people on here!

2. You need to read up on this disease. Get informed. Because there are bad psychiatrists and there are bone-headed GPs and professionals who just don't know enough. I am not saying you should assume you will encounter incompetents. I am saying you should be informed so that you will know what questions to ask, what to expect.

Glad you guys are getting help. Share as much of your story here as you feel comfortable with. It's a good place to be.

All of my advice is based on experience and reading. I am not a medical doctor, and have never even played one on TV.

Welcome. Good advice above - read up on bipolar. The bright side here is your husband is diagnosed and going along with treatment. Many refuse to believe there is anything wrong with their behavior. Good luck to you!
