MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

My H has long been told by me if he is not on his meds or seeing his PDoc for therapy that he can not be with his kids alone. It is simply not negotiable with me.

His sister was a cutter, suicide attempts and heard voices while hospitalized.

Since he is certainly hypomanic, I simply told him that he could come by here or I could drop them by McDonalds and I would wait for them at a side table, etc.

Mind you this is after spending the entire weekend days with him at his moms and our home with no issues, then didn't hear from him until last night.

I just don't feel he is stable. One one manic weekend episode he disappeared for the whole weekend. How do I know he won't do that?

Anyway, he agrees, then texts me a few minutes ago and says, I won't be there until 6 and why do you (me) have to babysit me playing with A.

I didn't reply. He already agreed. He already knows my boundaries. I think he is just trying to pick a fight or bully me.

What is it with him and texts. He can't bully me over the phone, only in a text?

If you feel strongly about this, stick to your guns. The court ordered me to share visitation and it was a terrible time in my life. It was a terrible ordeal for my son and even tho he is eighteen now I can still see the consequences.

What effects do you think he has now. He ended up feeling stupid when he actually needed my help. I even gave him coupons for the food and I offered to order and pay for the food, sheesh. I guess for the moment he felt pretty stupid.

I had invited him to go with us for fireworks afterwards earlier in the day, which he refused with all his talk about divorce. (nothing spurred this rant on on our end)

Halfway through the meal he said, when is the fireworks and can we meet there? Once there, he was playing with kids, and held my son upside down and said, say Hi to Mommy, just like he always did.

I'm not crying anymore when he leaves, nor do I read anything into him being kind for a moment.

I am no longer asking if he will come home. I am more asking myself do I want him to come home.

I am glad it worked out! My kids are a huge part of the reason I stay. I don't think a judge would agree to supervised only visitation and I won't let him have them unsupervised.

Why don't you think that a judge would agree to supervised only visitation?

my sister has bipolar disorder

refuses to treat it

and she has supervised visits with her child

court ordered.

it took CPS involvement

and her behavior had affected the well being of her child.

What did CPS observe or hear from the kids that help them determine that supervised visitation be involved? He has pushed doors open on me in front of kids, punched things, yelled, etc, but has never layed a hand on them or me.

zen

what they saw was a mother in full blown psychosis

living in a level six hoard

and a child of four years old with rotten teeth

and hair down to her knees that had not been brushed in months.

neglect.

why do you want your kids visits supervised ?

My ex was not bipolar but he was an asshat none the less. He was a cheating, bisexual man whore. (I have nothing against sexual preferences, just saying he cheated with men and women. I am very much against cheating) he was awarded joint custody. My son was 11 months old and I had to pass him over for 3 months on and 3 off. His current flavor of the week was always the one taking care of my baby. He does have effects but ill save that for another day. Don't feel like crying right now. I'm out of town because my dad is sick.

I'm sorry Forfor, didn't mean to stir up ole memories. I think that your strength has stayed with your son and when I think back with sadness or regret I remember that my 2 older kids learned to be strong and what goes around comes around. Hope your dad gets better soon!
