Help with after care

My husband is bipolar and has been for 4 years. He never had believed the diagnosis. He just spent in a week in the hospital and is coming home tomorrow. I'm scared for us both. How can I help and support him when he comes home?

A restful house is key. He can convelescent a bit more. Probably meeting with the social worker at the hostpital would be helpful.

Lemmons, I am sorry you are going through this. The first hospital stay is always so hard. I hope you met with the psychiatrists at the hospital to go over what meds they put him on, to make sure he has prescriptions to take when he gets out, and that he has a followup appointment with a psychiatrist in the coming weeks.

I agree that a restful and calm house is key. I would add that you should be loving and sweet to him....but I don't know why he was in the hospital. If he was there because he was raging at you, then loving and sweet is not the way to go.
